How can a ad campaign that just started a few days ago already be pronounced a failure?
An abundance of the games staring the world's most popular gaming mascot in the most profitable series in existence means that Nintendo's future is in jeopardy?
So they need to stop making games with record holding/breaking sells? Please explain this logic to me.
I really cannot comprehend why people are constantly attacking the most successful parts of Nintendo as needing revision, and it is primarily because they constantly revise them with ever iteration already.
Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy were worlds apart. Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are world's apart.
Second, they make mulitple ne...
I hate the obsession with "realistic" graphics in the industry today. I would rather they do something creative again.
I'll take Wind Waker graphics over Twilight Princess graphics any day of the week.
We have all of this power, and instead of using it to create new worlds the likes of which we have never seen before, people want to see stuff that looks like what people see everyday. I just don't get it.
Those things will applay to the WIi U when the other two next gen consoles drop.
Its less. They are slowly returning to profit, but judging by these comments, a lot of people don't want to see that happen.
First off, that is losses for "last year", and they are actually losing less. They are still actually making money overall.
From the actual article all of the Nintendo haters are misquoting
"Nintendo may post operating income of 70 billion yen, according to the average of 19 estimates -- short of a target he said was a personal “commitment.”
Thats 18 billion in losses with 70 billion in "incomse". That is only 30 bill...
Wow, someone posts a question that me and many other have been asking in a "non-negative" article about Nintendo and, as usual, the first thing I see is a bunch of people trying to redirect focus to Sony products.
I've been gaming my entire life since the 1980s and I have "NEVER" seen a console get as much negative attention and doomsaying as the Wii U. Not even the consoles that actually did fail. Neither Vita, nor the launch PS3's situation can e...
Yes, reality paints a vastly different picture from what you always say. ;)

Funny thing is that Nintendo made more money off the Gamecube era than Sony made off of the PS2.

Honeestly, looking at the "facts"

I would say that I'm more worried for Sony ...
The N64 and Gamecube made a huge profit, regardless of how much they sold by your standards.
The Wii U can only go up from here.
Does the PC allow the use of 2 independent game screens simultaneously?
The only thing the PC version will allow higher software performance and higher quality graphics to those with the hardware to run it.
Gameplay is, first and foremost, the most important thing in any game. The Wii U version will have the most to offer gameplay wise, so it will be the best version.
Best version confirmed.
Yes, I'm well away of that. Most people seem to love it. I'm not talking about most people or everyone, though.
I'm talking about gaming journalist and HD Twin fanboys.
Indeed. Till this day, the delay has been the only thing that Nintendo fans were even remotely agitated about.
They "did not care in the slightest" that is was announced for other hardware. That's not how Nintendo fans think, but these sad, fanboyish excuses for gamers try their hardest to insist on there being some form of resentment over it being announced for the PS3/360 when there isn't.
Seems that the entire cashing point of this news and the people commenting is the " its no longer Wii U exclusive" aspect. Its like they care very little, if at all, about the actual game itself aside from the potential detriment they hope they can use as fodder for throwing at the Wii U.
This is just sickeningly sad.
It like how people who bash EA for all of the crooked/terrible decisions and things they done, but rush to their defense and praise t...
"Joel Kinnunen: Nintendo eShop is great. It's certainly better than what's currently on PS3 and Xbox 360; it's more developer friendly in a lot of ways, and I think it's presented to the user in a much nicer way, too. There's always some things that could be improved but for the most part the eShop is awesome."
From a develeper that has worked on all HD console, this is nice to here.
I must agree. The word's price cut give an entire different impression than sale.
Price cut carries a more negative connotation.
Last I checked the 3DS was outpacing the DS(the machine monickered as printing money? Remember?), so I can safely say that people do want "a handheld gaming console" now a days.
The problem must lie somewhere else.
@Mr_Witer, funny how you call out user base for dismissing Wii sales(out of context I might add, since most of those sales were achieved when the console had only half its current market share), but then fail to apply the same logic to the Wii U sales vs. other consoles.
Biased nitpicking much?
Also, "Mario" isn't a game genre. He is a character/mascot that appears in games of mulitple genre's. Its also only 11 million, far lower than what y...
