While I do agree with most of his review he did come off as a fan boy. SOTN is a great game from the 32-bit era and certainly one of the best of all time. However, it's a tad on the short side and a little too easy. For $800 points it's a must buy and I'm enjoying playing it again after so many years.
That Toshiba didn't kick in a little money to get the HD DVD drive in there as standard. It would have helped them a lot in the next gen DVD war. Hopefully MS did put a wireless card in there. My white HD DVD drive is going to look bad enough.
My point was that soon enough you and the rest of the PS3 fan boy club will be able to enjoy the game as well. The Ghost Recon series has been pretty good so far so why knock them. At the rate the PS3 is loosing exclusive games you should take all the good multiplatform ones you can get.
As a former PS3 owner I hope you all are able to enjoy some GRAW 2 action soon enough. Hopefully it will run smooth and take full advantage of the PS3. It's a great game and should be enjoyed by as many as possible.
I don't know that the deal is but the game doesn't look that great. Some of the player models look cool but I'm playing on a 1080P display and what I see doesn't look close to those screen shots. Maybe the demo is totally different or something. Which I highly doubt.
I'm looking forward to this one now. A bunch of Mustangs I can customize. Your not going to see any ricer stickers on these babies when I auction them off.
lol :)
If this turns out to be true I might by one. I think MS would be better served to move the current premium unit to core status and make this the new flagship at the $399 price point. If they are going to go $479 they might as well have thrown in HD DVD.
Oh and it better have HDMI!
Hopefully they have been given the resources and time to make a good game. The PS2 game that came out a few years ago was decent.
The 360 can do DX10 level graphics but doesn't use the official DX10 standard. The lack of official DX10 support shouldn't be a big deal for awhile. Remember PC game developers have to code of a larger variety of computers. Most of their market will have PCs less powerful then what the 360 can crank out. Not everyone has a 8800 in their PC.
The PS3 isn't using all it's power. However it's going to take a hell of a lot of effort to get that other 75%. Without a huge install base of customers many developers won't bother. I wish more games were 1080p native but it is what it is. Makes that whole dual 1080p HDMI 1.3 thing a joke when they first listed the specs. Can't even get most games to display one 1080p screen.
My dogs will only catch Blu-ray discs. They are very picky.
They have plenty of them sitting the the shelves here now. Cut back on shipments to the U.S. and send them to Europe. Might be a win win for them because it would look like the unit was flying off of shelves again.
A lot of people have PCs but few have the hardware requirements to play GOW with all the goodies on at 1280x720. PC gaming isn't cheap, not everyone wants to dump $2k on a gaming machine. Then on top of that you have to update at least each year to stay on top of things.
I'm glad to see the console doing well. A lot of my friends that couldn't get a 360 at launch decided to wait until the PS3 came out. The PS3 came out, the games didn't look any better then 360 and the $600 price tag was a lot to swallow. Well now they all are rockin a 360.
Rumble and Forced Feedback are totally different. Rumble is your controller shaking a little like when you're driving over rocks. Forced Feedback is the controller actually fighting you back trying to push a car to hard into a turn like a real car does. Trust me if you played racing games like I'm sure you do Final Fantasy games you'd care.
But if your into image quality these cables probably aren't for you. I have a feeling that won't be able to pass a 1080P signal from a 360 to a TV without some kind of ghosting. I could be wrong though.
Sony will have to add it via a firmware update at some point. No way the GT guys are going to let that slide. They pride themselves on having one of the best car games and I don't think they are going to want second rate controls. Listen to the gamers Sony, with it comes success!
Look it's not BS. The PS3 will probably end up being a good system in about a year. However at $499 and $599 it's not going to fly off the shelf as fast as the other two consoles. That is a lot of money still for most people. The casual gamer isn't going to drop that much for a console. PS3's are sitting on the shelf in just about every store in my area. I had one for about a week, beat Resistance and sold it to a friend. I'll pick one up when they have some better games this year.
At this point why bother just make the sequels multi-platform. I don't know why this is such a big deal to people. The only exclusives left anymore will be the Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft branded ones.
