"you know, I think all you anti-Sony people should thank us. After we dropped the price on the PS3 it appears that our competitors all coincidentally dropped their price as well."
give me wallet a break Sony.
for anything Sony related. Kotaku is actually less biased nowadays than that site.
I expect GT5 to be announced for later this year. Hopefully in time for the holidays.
but I want custom Bat suits. Tim Burton's Batman being chief among these. But I love it when a dev gives back after their game is supported well.
between the bundles and the rapid price cuts they're doing all they can to stay competitive with Sony.
"Part of the reason why the PS3 is perceived as having higher value & quality is because it's always cost more"
Excellent point. The majority of my friends own 360s, but there is still that wow factor when they come over and see a PS3 on the shelf. Even if they think game x on 360 looks better than game y on PS3, the aesthetics and functionality always make the PS3 seem like the system with higher value. I guess rapid price cuts will only serve to reinforce that. ...
another price cut? At this rate they'll be paying us to take a 360. I guess all that hot air about beating the PS3 senseless was just that. Shows that they still respect and fear Sony.
I was going to mention Killzone 2 but thought better of it. It may have been a different reviewer and the games are on different consoles. I haven't played ODST but it is hard to believe that a game once slated as mere DLC or an expansion pack could compare to a full retail game like Killzone 2. But hey, maybe I'm wrong.
Anyway what's it matter? 360 gets ODST and PS3 gets Uncharted 2. None of this is going to matter anyway come 11/10/09.
PSN: Lifendz
At this point I have two options:
1) believe that MS bought reviews across the board or the reviewers were already biased in favor of the 360 or;
2) Bungie made a darn good Halo game.
The Bioshock effect will kick in. This is where a port of a year plus old game is released for full price with the justification of improved visuals and exclusive content. While that stuff is nice, it's not enough to compete with games like Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, etc.
Perfect price for this would've been 39.99 to 49.99. It's almost an impulse purchase at that point. But no matter, it'll be that price in a few months.
Cuz I didn't expect them to make this move until they got the numbers on how the Slim did compared to 360 in the first month. MS must really have the money to engage in a race to the bottom with Sony i.e. cutting their price whenever Sony drops its price. Or maybe it's just the fact that MS makes so much off of people on Live memberships, HDD add-ons, Wifi add-ons, etc, that they can drop the system's price.
Solution: Get both systems"
Some of the biggest fanboys were the ones that owned both systems and worked in the gaming media. owning both systems is a veil of security that I think many fanboys hide behind. Owning both systems doesn't mean your not a fanboy; it simply shows you have a good amount of disposable income.
not systems. I think the delineation between who is and who isn't a fanboy is whether you go out of your way to disparage another system, it's games, or the people that buy it. Simply preferring one system over another does not, imo, make one a fanboy. But hating another system (especially when you don't own it) seems like the prereq.
Fanboys are funny to me. If I were a "Sony fanboy" which means I would hate the 360, I would've missed out on some really fun/great mome...
anything is possible. KZ2 was done a disservice as was the first Uncharted. However, Sony has been advertising the PS3 slim and the new price point more aggressively than I've seen them advertise anything this gen. Maybe this is a sign of things to come? I hope so. Big sellers encourage more devs to follow suit with quality games like the aforementioned titles.
so I submit this music video to express my joy and appreciation for Naughty Dog for creating such a great game:
Only three sites matter to me in terms of scores: 1up, Gamespot, and IGN. That's it. Everything else is just fanboy fodder. I base whether or not I should purchase a game based on the aggregiate score that game gets from those sites.
Uncharted 2 might become the highest rated game on PS3.
I still don't have the plat in the first one, but I'm trying to find the time to go back and get that done.
I'm sure. /s
