Except the Uncharted Fortune Hunter edition was about as limited as a collector's edition can get just because they didn't sell it anywhere...you had to win it. And based on that alone you should know they didn't make many of them. That's in stark contrast to the Halo 3 collector's edition that you can still find and purchase for a fraction of it's original price.
Heck no. I'm a gamer, man. I've owned every system from the NES to the effing PS3. That includes a Neo Geo and a 3D0. I got a 360 because Halo Reach is effing awesome and because there are a couple of old 360 games I've been wanting to check out but couldn't cuz they were exclusive. I got nothing against MS. I just didn't like that they put out a system prone to malfunctioning when they knew it was going to. I plan on getting Live for one year and I'll see where it goe...
Kudos to MS. Halo is a monster franchise as evidenced by those numbers. Heck, they even got my money for a 360. Any idea what the next exclusive IP will be to garner these sorts of sales?
Sensing a lot of you didn't read the article. Gabe isn't saying XBL is crap; he's saying that all the stipulations and restrictions really surprised Valve. They expected to be able to provide free content for customers (see Epic Games as well) and ran into MS arbitrary policies and restrictions. The closed nature of Live that was heralded as it's greatest strength is now a detriment as companies are seeing that PSN's open nature also allows them to provide support and run ...
Yeah, I remember those days. To think these big sites actually condoned such blatant fanboy like actions. Things have gotten better (especially at Gamespot), but Game Trailers still seems to be the most critical of the big sites site when it comes to PS3 games.
And a 7 is about as high a score as a game like EyePet could probably hope to get
I think Meomahaad was being sarcastic.
Enjoyed reading the non-biased posts by some of the people above. I also hope MS adopts blu-ray for it's next console. It would make them a more viable option than if they stick with DVD or try to introduce a new format. Bubbles to all that kept fanboy comments out of the discussion.
I think Rockstar showed so much with RDR that there's no way it could "suck." At first I thought it would be bad for them to continue the story of RDR. Then I thought that would actually be pretty cool if done right.
R* is one of the best devs out there. They've made as many classics as the best devs out there. Total faith in those guys.
"I don't know why you guys/gals are all up in arms, I'm just saying it is probably in Sony's best interest to avoid mentioning anything whale hunting in general. There are plenty of other good examples to use."
Why? Why should Sony not touch the issue or make a joke about it? Is it because it's a Japanese company? What are your reasons for making such an asinine statement? Again, I think you're taking this way out of context.
Fighting fire with fire man. MS has been taking shots at Sony for the longest (see Aaron Greenberg). I don't recall you saying anything then. And lets not even start with Turn 10 and the almost insecure manner with which they proclaimed Forza 3 to be definitive.
So long as it's just playful banter and nothing malicious, I don't see any harm in taking shots at the competition.
Yeah, I gotta say you're overreacting there and really bringing a serious issue into what was an obvious attempt at levity. To engage your argument, maybe Sony is actually showing its support for the save the whale campaign despite being a Japanese company. Just because a company is based in Japan doesn't mean it's necessarily pro every action of the Japanese government.
It just kept going too. Funny funny stuff. Blatant shots at MS aside, I think we all agree that some sort of controller is essential.
There are going to be so many Kinect related injuries and I can't wait for them.
Kinect for Street Fighter: Player does a dragon punch and ends up breaking his hand on his ceiling.
Kinect for Gears: Player does a curb stomp and accidentally steps on a pet or small child.
Kinect for Madden: Player gets carried away and throws his back out while attempting to perform a diving catch.
Not much you can do about it. If you want to play the multiplayer portion of your 360 games you're going to have to pay. If you're smart, you can make out okay by checking out online retailers for deals on Live cards.
Yeah, amazing how a few consoles bricking are made out to be the next coming of the RROD. Best part was that whole clock problem that lasted all of a day (if that). I remember that getting so much attention from so many pro-360 sites that I began to wonder if these guys weren't really closet PS3 fans. I mean, if you're so pro-360 then why get all butt hurt about a PS3 problem?
Can't wait to watch those floor demonstrations. "Please do not walk in front/behind/or near the person using Kinect. Please do not attempt to do any complicated maneuvers. If you injure yourself neither Best Buy or MS are liable. Have fun!"
Why'd they change Harly Quinn? She looked fine the first time.
There's only a "handful" of games for the PS3eye because Sony failed to realize that there was a huge market for motion controller games. Doesn't necessarily connote that the camera isn't worth a damn. Sony's games division may be many things, but it's not a division that releases gaming devices that aren't cutting edge.
Kinect is just fundamentally lame imo. There's a reason that controllers have been a part of the equation since the inception of gaming. You can simplify the controller, but you still need a bleeping controller. Really think Kinect will be the next HD-DVD add-on for the 360.
I said that a few weeks ago. We all know MS has more money than almost every company in the world. MS spending alone will keep Kinect from being the next Virtual Boy. Thing is, if Move is done right Sony won't have to out spend MS. Think about how many Wii commercials you saw. A few but it wasn't over done or anything. Word of mouth and a good spot or two on Good Morning America and Oprah are all that's needed. Unfortunately for Sony I gotta think MS is going to use both of those ...
