as is I already rented it and beat it. I'd only go back to Rapture to get my gold trophy but that isn't worth the 20 bucks. Especially when I'm one ps3 eye and smug shot away from getting a plat in Burnout.

And I also had to laugh at "Top Rank Gangsta." Why perpetuate a stereotype of the hiphop community that it embraces and condones criminal activity? Why not have your levels for forum members based on various gaming monikers with the top one being "hardcore gamer" or something along those lines?
R2 looked good for a launch game. Uncharted, MGS4, and KZ2 have all raised the bar. Step your game up Insomniac.
Don't use the Ratchet engine. It doesn't work for what Resistance should be. See if you can get Guerilla's engine.
R1 felt like Europe. The stages had a "real" feel to them. R2 felt like nowhere. The stages did not make me sentimental or evoke any kind of emotion in me and the game was in my friggin country this time around.

I won't even watch. I'll watch Sony and MS because they actually make games for a gamer like me. Nintendo, I love Smash Bros but other than that I don't see you giving me anything this year. Then again it's not like Nintendo needs gamers like me anymore...sigh.

I wish Sony advertised all the benefits of PSN and the fact that it's free. Having all the features of Live plus dedicated servers for free is going to be amazing.

I've owned a PS3 since March of 2007 and I went through a gaming drought on the system that was supposed to be murder. I played Resistance everyday and got Fight Night going but for the most part there wasn't a whole lot out there. Then came Uncharted. Then MGS4. Then LBP. Then the multi-plats got even better in some instances than the 360. I don't get why people still are so down on the system.

MS does not have the in-house studios that Sony has. Their ace was that they could buy exclusivity cuz the PS3 base was so low in 07 (relatively speaking). Now, the PS3 base is large enough that PS is the console that earns the big companies the most. MS can't buy exclusive games but can only get exclusive DLC (lol@that).
So all of MS' major games are on PS3 as well while PS3's major hitters are not. Remember ...

EA, Taketwo, and Ubi have all stated their biggest earner (pardon the rough phrase) is the PS3. Blu-ray just had the biggest december ever and is doing better than DVD did in year two. PSN is constantly improving, dedicated servers, and it's still free. And God of War, Heavy Rain, GT5, etc are all slated for an 09 release.
KZ2 is big, but it's not crucial. Sony has always probided a diverse library of games and this gen is no different. How scared is MS of KZ2 is the question.
It just went gold, it's number 2 on Amazon's preorder game chart, number one on play.com and Gamestop, and yet it might struggle? Oh puh leeze. The damage control is in full effect and the game is still a month away!
and more and more of them are, they only buy their games on PS3. They let their live account expire, they play 360 now and again but are overly cautious because it's probably RROD'd on them. So yeah, this is a trend and I think the gap will only widen in time. This is why most devs lead on PS3 now.
I didn't buy one yet because I don't see it standing the test of time as well as PS3 will.
and Microsoft is rather unethical for waiting so long to act on this.

That should be SOny's new ad song. Show blu-ray, free online, the games that are out and the one's coming, and then when the song gets to the part where "you ain't cuz you not" then can show RROD in the darkness. Subtle and hilarious. Also would be effective advertising.
It's from 1up. That site is in limbo. I can't take anything they say and give it credence until it shows me some stability.
Once cross game chat, custom avatars, voice messages, and an integrated signature for trophies and online profiles is available, then yes...PS3 will be equal to live, better than live, and free.
I'm sure Sony is working on getting the aforementioned features to us. Patience young grass hopper. It's not like you're paying for PSN :-)
because they add longevity to games. You don't just play to beat the game, you now play to get that trophy. R2 is a great example. I'm keeping it to get my gold for 10k kills. I'm at 7 or so now and I can almost see that gold trophy on my mantle. In fact, were it not for Trophies in some games I probably wouldn't have rented/bought them or I would have sold them. Burnout prompted me to play through the whole thing again because trophies were incorporated. Same with Uncharted. I can't wait for...
