Imagine if Sony had not jumped on the 1080p bandwagon as a point of difference so developers could render at 900p as well. Imagine how much more could have been packed in in terms of visuals effects and objects on screen.
No, im not say 1080p is a bad thing, far from it, but what other effects have to be cut to achieve it. For instance, in project cars crowds seem to be cardboard cutouts. Maybe at 900p on PS4 they could have been 3D modeled.
Looks good, definitely a good substitute in the absence of GT on PS4. I find the draw distance in the rear view mirrors a little annoying though.
VR is about total immersion, making it seem like the gamer is part of the world he/she is playing in. Making it seem like the player is in the game.
Try watching a movie like Gravity on a smartphone then watching that same movie on IMAX. Yes, but true to form I'll bet all that foliage is bullet proof. Unreal engine renders fantastic visuals but features very little damage or reactions to environmental changes.
It will come down to software. It has me interested but the apps and games have to be worth it. I also need to see just how well it works with the X1 since my PC is quite a few years old now.

Personally, I believe its worse for people to own one (yes I appreciate not everyone can own both...took me 18 months to save up!) and then continually jump all over the other console. Acting as though anyone who does not own their console is somehow lesser....forgetting the fact that we are all supposed to be gamers and just having fun!
But if Sony had treated the PS4 like the Vita then the PS4 would have been sold without an HDD and you could only buy a proprietary one from Sony for 3 to 4 times what youd expect to pay.
Basically what I'm saying is that the problem with the Vita is not one just based on games alone.
I own both and to me there is very little difference between them in terms of display. Yes you can count pixels all you like but unless you play them side by side many could not tell which is which. Build quality and feature wise the X1 has it IMO.

Why do we keep up with these stupid pi$$ing contests. If you have PS+ download the free PS+ games. If you subscribe to XBL then download the respective games on that service. If you own both then you have the best of both worlds.

This would be fantastic if you could then pick up an X1 controller to play the game. Now, give me streaming the other way so I can use my tablet screen as a display for the X1 so I can play games whilst everyone else watches TV.
I'm still loving Forza 5 and am really looking forward to its 6th installment. Given how much time I put in to racing games I dont really play two of them at a time. Thats why I'm still unsure about Project Cars given Forza 6 is only 6 months or so away. I'd be the same if GT7 was announced for this year as well.
