I used to love maxis games but now there is very little of that old company left, they have completely lost that special spark and are now purely money oriented. I expect EA to close them down and add them to their long list of once great studios in the not too distant future.
Its not like one machine is massivly more powerful than the other, we have already seen that parity between the machines isn't a problem with ps4 games being 1080p and x1 being in the 900s.
The box doesn't have the cooling for such a speed increase.
The lack of an open world is the biggest reason for me to not care about this version of sims as it's a huge step back, the lack of all the other features will be slowly released over the 10+ dlc and expansion packs a year. It will still probably sell massively though and dominate the charts.
Yeah I feel the same, we already alive in a world of yearly refreshes in the mobile market from the other big players, it's about time Nintendo stepped up and did something similar with higher spec refreshes and backward compatibility. In terms of performance the current 3ds comes no where near to the latest ipad, iPhones and android devices.
No one realistically ever expects xbox consoles to be first in terms of sales, I think it has a good shot at hitting second place by the end of the gen as I expect it to be around a lot longer than the wii u.
I really liked the first one it was great couch coop game, cannot wait for this new one to come out.
I am really looking forward to seeing what they do with a new gen version of saints row.
It is only a matter of time.
Will be interesting to know how much more powerful it is, looks like some nice improvements.
Mobile technology is moving along so fast at the moment and unlike consoles tablets get refreshed every year. In five years time tablets will probably be close if not as powerful as this gen of consoles. If game streaming takes off then consoles face a real threat of becoming redundant.
All the casual gamers are on their ipads and androids, very hard to crack into that market atm.
Game quality is the most important, a crap game is still a crap game even if it runs at 120fps and in 4k.
I think it would sell very well on console, seems like this gen they are ready for mmos.
I got diablo 3 for £44 on disc the digital download is £60, the difference is way too much. You could get 4 games for the same price as 3 games on digital, in a few months time the game will drop to like £30 on physical but the digital will remain the same £60. Most of the time the digital sales are also still above that of the physical cost. Valves pricing is always decent i very rarely buy a physical pc game, and the sales are extremely good.
So many good games coming out a list of 10 just isn't enougth.
It will be more reliable compared to how we game now, internet connections will continue to get better and a passively cooled low tech streaming box will suffer from far fewer issues than the type of consoles we play on today.
The local coop is amazing I hope we get more games like this coming out, the game is perfect on consoles and is just a lot more fun than when I played it on PC.
Good to see Microsoft being proactive and putting resources into helping make 1080p happen with third party developers.
Games are top of the list, everyone has a different preference.
