This should also be a retail release. Limiting this to online-only seems a mistake. Why cut out half of PS4 gamers? Also owning the game physically means you can play it forever, even after it is eventually not supported online and pulled from the servers.
Honestly the next AC should be set aboard the Titanic, 'cause this series is sinking fast...
I always thought Crash was crap. Just run forward in a straight line and use timing to bop stuff. It only had interest because the linear corridor lent itself to graphics that looked better than most other PS1 stuff. RIP Crash, out with the old, in with the new.
After playing both on the PS4 I would say the graphics are better in Watchdogs. In GTA V it is more sparse and the lighting isn't as good. Look to the distance in GTA V and there is serious geometry culling going on to the point where there is a blurry texture where buildings should be. Character models look last-gen and the game in general has a flat "cartoony" look to it. WD looks more real. Of course this is not saying which is the better game but graphically GTA V cert...
Soccer mums will buy what is the cheapest. They don't know or care which one does 1080p more or has 900 or 792p games, they don't know what AO or shadow maps are, they know that the X1 is ridiculously cheap with low price and a bunch of games thrown in. Right now to them the $400.00 PS4 seems a ripoff.
I guess due to MS basically having infinite money they can get away with these deals and Sony can't.
It means something, over 2000 disappointed buyers when they play that choppy laggy buggy glitchfest that is AC:U that is what it means.
I was at Target looking for games but noticed all of the cabinets were stuffed full of PS4s as if they didn't sell a single one but no X1 were to be seen. The place where they were was completely empty. By that indication it looks like xbone crushed PS4 in black Friday sales. I am not surprised though, MS is practically giving them away. Probably the low price is enticing X360 owners to upgrade to current gen.
I was surprised to see the Wii U section empty as well, cou...
Yeah basically a form letter they cut and paste to all customers. That is service. Right. I would only accept a replacement disc with the complete finished debugged version and I would wait another month to get it. That is fair right? You buy a toaster that is broke out of the box, you exchange it for a working one.
(BTW as a side note way back in the past there was a 3DO game (Killing time) that had a glitch that could corrupt saves, they actually fixed the bug and sent ...
Yeah after how many gigs of patches?
Try playing any of their releases out of the box.
I have many Ubugsoft games and they are decent overall but their QC system is the pits, basically all their paying customers become beta testers.
So that gives them a free pass to release unfinished rushed out junk? Their games would be unplayable for anyone without an internet connection to constantly download fixes for their buggy games. They have some good games but their QC is dreadful. And it is not just them I will admit that. It seems most all publishers have adopted the "rush out now unfinished, fix later" model.
Ubugsoft does some real dodgy things. Everything from review embargoes, bullshots a...
The animals are ridiculous in this game. You can unload a whole clip from your Assault rifle into the noggin of a tiger at point blank range and it is still charging you! Those doggies are a little better, it only takes 4 or 5 shotgun blasts to the face to take them out. Forget using a sniper rifle from a distance. 2 or three direct hits to the skull and the animals shake it off like a mosquito bite. Then there are those damn eagles. They come out of no where and take out most of your h...
Yeah this is getting out of hand. Last gen you bought a game and generally it worked fine (with the exception of Bethesda games). Maybe some people found a few minor glitches and the game was maybe patched once to fix. Anyone without internet was mostly ok as the game usually still worked as the glitches were minor.
Now you buy a game and you immediately need to run to the internet for a multi GB day one patch to add the rest of the game that was incomplete on disc and fix...
While I beat Origins, I got so bored with Dragon Age 2 that I never finished it. The same 3 locations recycled was just too uninteresting.
Hope Inquisition is better.
Games are getting worse and worse as time goes on. Every game released by every publisher is now riddled with bugs.
This doesn't bode well for the publisher that is the king of bugs, Bethesda. The way it is going a new Elder Scrolls or Fallout game will be lucky to make it past the title screen without locking up at launch.
Terrible.
The free running was terrible in Black flag too. Honestly I liked the naval battles but the ground missions were an exercise in frustration. The character seemed to have a mind of it's own and you were lucky if it moved how you wanted it too. I don't know how many times in timed parts where you had to run after someone, the character would just stop out of nowhere and latch on to something or start climbing something on it's own causing a mission fail. Honestly it controlled l...
What did Ubi get the reward for? Releasing the most broken, buggiest, unfinished, lousiest performing games this year?
Well only one of those, the PC are great. For the others you picked the weakest ones. Enjoy low res sub HD.

But sales DO matter. It entices more devs to support the system. It makes them want to make the PS4 the lead development console which means games will be optimized for it and run and look better on them than if they were made for a different one then lazy ported to PS4 (AC:Unity ahem...). It also means devs will be less likely to make something exclusive to another platform and forsake potential PS4 version sales. It matters.
There is nothing wrong with making a profit. They are in business to make money, not friends.
That said there are limits, they should at least release a finished WORKING product too. As long as people support this current "release broken/incomplete now, patch later" model then we will keep getting crap. We have the power, if we all stop pre-ordering (pointless, why give money ahead of time for an unknown?) and buying ripoff season passes (AKA stuff purposely rippe...
Dat parity. Thanks but no thanks Ublowsoft.
