Really? I thought Crash was pretty lame actually. It looked decent for it's time but the gameplay was pretty shallow and repetitive.
@guyman
And Mario was a flat cardboard cut out side scroller until Mario 64 which was 3D. Does that mean Mario needed to be a flat side scroller forever just because it was originally "designed that way"? No.
Break immersion? More realism means MORE immersion not less. FPV is more immersive because it is more like reality, like YOU are there (unless in real life you really see yourself from behind). In TPV you just control a polygon game model ...
Well you could say DC is the worst if you don't have an internet connection to complete and fix it or like the idea of leasing games by buying them digitally (as soon as the patches/games are taken offline your access to the content is gone). If you buy physical you only get a broken half finished game with missing content like weather on the disc. Since you NEED to go online to get the working/complete version it is basically a digital download game either way.
DriveFlub LOL. I guess you only played 3 games this year then...
And many times they even struggle to do 1080p. There are some 900p PS4 games and even more 900p and 792p games on xbone.
Weak.
I am over AC after AC4. That was my first and last of the series. Honestly the controls are crap. I remember the character climbing things I didn't want to and getting to the top of those ship's crow's nests (and down again) were an exercise in frustration. It controlled like a poorly trained dog, it did what you wanted , sometimes, then got a mind of it's own. It seemed to get the worst when you had to chase someone with a time limit. You run through town only to have the...
"Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us"
AAhhhh ha ha Haaa haa haaa. MMWwaHhhhaha ha haaa LOL.
That is a good one Ubi. Important months after that buggy mess released? If it was so important then this crap should have never been released the way it was.
And they care so much that all new discs produced won't still have the broken version on them right? Right, they will. I suppose screw everyone who does...
This game looks kind of cartoony. It isn't photorealistic at all. Far Cry 4 looks much more real. UC4 has a weird almost cell shaded, kind of painting look to it. I guess it is the art style or something but the graphics are not all that great, just "OK".
Man, allot of butthurt fanboys here that can't take any criticism of their game.
I do agree that the UC series is brutally linear to the point that it feels on rails.
It also has like one way to solve a problem. Through trial and error you must figure out the exact sequence they planned in their heads when making the game, even when another perfectly logical solution "fails" just because that wasn't what their script called for. There shou...
But it isn't a movie. It is a game. Big difference, one you sit and watch, the other you interact with by controlling it. The bars just plain suck and just reduces resolution in a gimmicky way. All of the lame things they do this gen just to avoid doing full HD, everything from black bars to upscaled low res is dissapointing. My TV already is "widescreen" I don't need "wider screen" (and hence smaller screen).
"A True Showcase of PS4's ...
They are doing it to reduce resolution so the game isn't choppy, make no mistake. The only "cinematic" choice may be to do that instead of upscale as upscaling tends to make things more blurry. It is still sub-full HD. Full HD is 1920 x 1080 not 1920 x 800, sorry guys not falling for it.
I still hate the bars, makes my TV seem much smaller.
I hate QTEs, a poor excuse for real gameplay. It you want QTEs play Dragon's lair from the 1980s. Meh.
@u4one
But who says emulating an archaic format shortcoming is desirable? It is a lame excuse used by devs as to why their game can't get a higher framerate. Instead of just admitting that they chose better graphics fidelity over framerate (which is fine and I personally prefer better graphics)they give us this "cinematic" excuse. Then there is the fact that games /= movies.
Depending on what you need to give up to get 60. You need to downgrade visuals to get that double framerate as it is twice the load on the hardware. If a game has to have bad lighting, textures, shadows to get 60 then many times it is not worth the tradeoff depending on the kind of game. Some imbeciles think well "just do both" but they fail to realize hardware is not infinite, especially consoles with laptop CPUs and budget GPUs.
I won't buy it due to those annoying black bars. I know they couldn't do full HD 1920 x 1080 without their game getting choppy but couldn't they just upscale like everyone else when they can't make full HD? I am not crazy about their small screen TV emulator. Lose the shitty QTEs too they are a lame substitute for real gameplay.
Not really. The first Halo maybe but after that you could tell the focus shifted to MP with the short campaigns.
Generally you don't have both being the best because SP and MP are like two whole games in one disc. Due to limited resources one style usually gets cut short. COD is like that, a 4 hour tacked on campaign due to the focus being online MP. Honestly I think games these days should concentrate on and only have one type. Be the best SP or the best MP and that...
Not really, they could have staged the bug to make you think that.
Too bad I couldn't buy the complete version with weather on disc. If I bought it retail this game is half physical copy, half digital download only.
I just better not see any day one patches for this then. If the delay means a complete game that actually works without game breaking bugs and performance problems then yes delay away.
I would just want it to be less linear. I mean it was brutally linear to the point that you were almost on rails. I am not saying it needs to be open world, but just have a bit more freedom and exploration.
More and better puzzles. The ones in the first were not that great. It was basically move obvious floating pallet to obvious place. Have the puzzles involve more physics and different ways to solve. Make it so you have to use that mellon on your shoulders for more than...
