Oddly, by the time this game ships, DirectX 12 will most likely be available and be the preferred path since it wouldn't be as closely tied to AMD hardware as Mantle would be.
It's not that DirectX and OpenGL had "problems", it's that they didn't offer a hands-off way of accessing the hardware. It's not something they'll get for "free" though in either case. The devs will now have to perform a lot of book keeping tasks that drivers ...
Am I the only one here who absolutely hated Tali? Why does everyone like her?
I'm not opposed to seeing him go at the end of this trilogy (so Halo 6). With how Cortana's story played out in 4, they're certainly in a better position to do something like this than the old, or new, Bungie.
Regardless of how you felt about ME 3, for me, my second play through hit me like a ton of bricks. As "Leaving Earth" played, I realized I was taking my Shepard to her death... again. I wasn't going to change that, and I knew that every miss...
I never played the first 2, should I get this one? Going back and playing the others would be tough as they are both 30+ hour games etc.
Considering 'proper' games have existed since the 80's (dragon quest, final fantasy, metal gear), they've touched at least 4 decades now. At some point we can't keep using "incredibly young" as an excuse.
Perhaps this is a moot point anyhow. A lot of folks say they play solely for the gameplay (and you get Destiny) while others get their entertainment fun from a more refined mix between story an gameplay (and you get TLoU and Mass Effect). Part...
Really? Are we really going to see several articles every Friday about this...
So 2 things here:
- Of the 7million _potentially_ sold, 2.5 million of those may have exchanged hands through trade-ins etc. to equal the 9.5million registered users who have logged in
- 7million across 4 platforms, 2 of them very large, is kinda weak isn't it? Relatively speaking (7million for games is still top notch regardless but probably lower than what Activision would've hoped?)
MSFT, hundreds of kickstarter's, and countless other company's do so as well. They're all like this - even SpaceX often shows rockets and capabilities that may never materialize to drum up creativity, competition, and support. Most don't have anything tangible especially if they're trying to invent something that doesn't quite exist yet.
They just used a bigger stage to do it... and didn't directly ask for our backing in money up front... I guess. ...
I'd agree. If you were to video me playing games, and then ask random folks if I was having 'fun', many would say no. In reality I'm probably having a blast. Just because I may not be smiling, laughing, or jumping up and down high-fiving friends in the same room doesn't mean I'm not still having fun.
WTF, the quote in the summary of this article never appears anywhere in the interview. It's said in a completely different way...
What can we do to convince you to be bothered :)
I suppose the only thing we can ask is that you, yourself, don't preach about Destiny any further than you have to either.
Awesome news! The big 3 all doing fairly well. And Zynga hurting more and more with every passing day.
Celebrations all around!
Tell me about it. Everywhere I look, every magazine I open, every tv series I watch I'm _assaulted_ with images of men I could never hope to be. I'll never be a top 100 villain or a hero... _cries_
I'll be in the gym doing hundreds of pushups until someone loves me... Someone please love me!
They can't. Both Xbox One and PS4 only have HDMI 1.4 out - not 2.0 (for 60fps)
So right now, with the current hardware iteration, which will change as new models show up most likely, both will be limited to 4k/30fps. Also, 4k 3D isn't supported with version 1.4 either I think.
I'm not being pretentious, but could someone remind me how the game ended? I honestly don't remember :-/ I remember fighting the scary gal who was punched in both eyes, and I remember him confronting the emperor but not much else.
As for the gameplay itself, I didn't like it much. It was like they took Assassin's Creed, stripped away everything except the sword parrying combat, and we're like we're done here!
I never really understood the hate for Halo4. For me it was more enjoyable than Halo3 simply because of Cortana's storyline. After E32006 with that awesome trailer, I was expecting something... more but it never materialized.
I don't partake in the multiplayer much so if that's the main gripe, than I can't comment on that really.
Many MMO's have events tailored to seasons/holidays like WoW: http://www.wowhead.com/even...
Alright Bungie, you said that you have plenty of content, so let's see what you got for us now.
I never got into Titanfall but that "when he picks you up" meme is chuckle worthy.
I'm just disappointed that there's not a similar one showing a titan picking up two mangled corpses and smashing them together and saying "now kiss!"
Ugh, and next week: "Look you fanboys all know that the number of Red Deaths provided by Bungie were units **shipped** to Xur not units **sold** by Xur"
As I suspected - games are now exploring the space between 900-1080p more just like the sub 720p resolutions of last gen. Not quite to the extent of Wolfenstein (which was dynamic) but that will come soon as well.
1400x1080 is basically equivalent to 1600x900 in terms of raw pixel counts. This matters once you start running pixel shaders (GPU resources and bandwidth).
Why not upscaled 900p then? Because many hardware upscalers are often like this. They tend t...
