Actually no i live in the US. From a networking standpoint we are not ready to embrace a full on digital only gaming lifestyle. The average american has a 250 gb bandwidth cap.

we are a long way from complete digital content for consoles. I actually don't believe that we will ever really go totally digital for the simple fact that bandwidth costs would kill customers. It would essentially create a new bandwidth plan from internet providers. This plan would be more costly because providers would say that as gamers require we higher download cap.

Now most of you will say that its not possible to do since an upgrade code would have to be provided at release to all to all current gen owners. I agree, from a marketing standpoint it is terrible work. Many will say oh its just the box but its often the packaging and the visual queues in the advertising that gets out attention. If the box looks this bad what will the launch day marketing material look like.
My 3 year old niece could do a better job with this packaging.

I have nothing against The XB1, but its kind of true that MS has been bringing up PS4 more than Sony has. Ive seen so many articles from MS that mention the PS brand directly in the last few weeks that it is ridiculous.

Drewidian, The XB1 is not an anyway a cable box, it is an add-on to a cable box. While you will probably see a few cable providers selling it it won't be a big push because the customer still has to own a cable box to use the XB1 TV features. Now if MS did integrate Cable box functionality into the XB1 it would sell like crazy and your theory would be correct.

sales wise its not a smart move, but once they have enough consoles out in the world say 1 year from now, they could push an update that reactivates DRM. Remember once you own the console if you attempt to skip a mandatory update you basically own a brick. I dont care who wins. I currently own both of this current gens consoles, but i will pass on the XB1 for 2 reasons. forced to own Kinect, and every time a hear a statement about the XB1 from MS its always entertainment first games second.

have you seen the size comparison? the XB1 is the size of a 2008 cable box, while the PS4 is half that size.
Exactly. This is something that can be and is being done with the current consoles. We already have cloud saves, AI updating and profile updating via Cloud(off site servers).
