FrigidDARKNESS...Its still to early to say that. You can't really base sales on just pre-orders alone.

Right now this is a popularity contest. And MS is calling themselves the All in one entertainment console. WEll i want a gaming console first. MS is also declaring themselves the next-gen winner before the gen even starts, a little premature i think: dont you.

my point is just wait and see.

i eventaully plan on owning both so dont scr...

Its 10 years later Joel is dead Ellie is fighting to survive. She knows the truth about what Joel did to save her life. now she's on a mission to save whats left of the world from the Fireflys and find a way to use her immunity to save the world. Along the way she meets other immune people.. go from their.

just my 2 cents. I don't want a direct sequel, but what ever ND comes up with i know will be worth playing.

The answer is common sense. WE just don't have the bandwidth to stream that much content. As for consoles going away.. maybe but i doubt it. At some point in the future consoles and the PC will fold together, especially as the demand for higher quality games is increased. then we will see the resurgence of the All-in-One system with a game console, cable box, and HTPC.

the only way it could pass for an always on DVR would be if they moved all tv based services over to the free access side.

personally i think they should really look at the xbox live offerings and move over some of the subscription based services they provide to the regular side. its not very balanced to offer something like youtube access only if you have XB Gold, or even Netflix. Why should i pay for netflix and then have to pay MS just to be able to use it on my xbox.

MS is playing middleman to the gateway when i already have a middleman!!! my service provider.

knifefight you are actually quite right. it wasn't an issue till the creation of the online pass. Which we are told is a way to nip used game sales.
And to be honest it may well be, but it could also foreshadow a coming games cost increase if all publishers use this method.

the reason the Star Wars edition console wasn't as big a hit as they expected has a lot to do with the package price. while it may have been well worth it to a hardcore Star Wars fan.. trust me i want it. but I'm not paying the 500 after tax price tag for it. MS may be pandering to the casual gamer right now, at some point they will fall into the same spot Nintendo did with the Wii. and without fresh hardcore titles to interest gamers when a new console is released they risk the chanc...

just curious. not saying your wrong but does it make any sense that most xbox live users use it for services like Netflix.. once again I'm not saying its not true.. but why pay for a service(xbox live) just so you can pay for Netflix.
doesn't make any sense to me.

personally if Nintendo focuses on portable gaming which seems to be their true niche in the gaming industry they may be able to salvage some of their reputation

look i know the hardcore gamers are in an uproar over the way that MS has handled this last couple of years but they are trying to fill a niche that the Wii once held onto very strongly and that is family gaming. Do i support the way they are handling it HELLo NO.
Do i support tagging all new features as premium features. NO!!! by doing so it gives them probably cause to increase the cost of their premium service, and it opens them up to grabbing more of the Wii share.

While i may not support or accept the theory behind blocking used games their is actually nothing illegal behind blocking used games on a console. If they were to block the sale of used games that would be different. It would then call into play the ownership of the game, and as it stands while you do own the media you don't own the code on it. Thereby giving studios and console makers the right to block access but not ownership. its a stupid loophole but its a loophole none the less.

while jack may show his personal support for the used game market he also had to think about his position and future in the company. He made sure he was very clear in stating that he does not know what japan is thinking when it relates to the idea of blocking used games.
had he said that Sony was against blocking used games on a new console it would be a different story

if thais has any truth to it.. then the most interesting part to me was Battlefield 3 note. could mean backwards compatibility. buy its just a wait and see thing so ill just wait and see what really happens.

anyone stop to think that maybe they are gauging the figures for DD based on response from the demo. Which would be bad on their part, because the demo was so short you couldn't really get a feel for the game play.

i loved the demo, even though it was incredibly short.. but the vibrance of the game and the battle system make me want to play this game.
can't wait for this game to be released.

really what did you expect them to do with Ghost Recon Future Soldier on the release list. They gotta do something in the Call of Duty line to compete with it.

When it comes down to it we will never own digital distribution purchases in the console market until they create a way for you to transfer/backup your download off of the main system. as it stands right now if you change out your hard drive in a console and the provider just so happen to pull a game or piece of media off of their servers then you not only lose your money you loose your game as well.

DD is just a way for providers to say give me your money and ill let you bo...

don't get me wrong i love this game but i can't see a reason to invest in 2 DLC packs with no increase in the level cap. I'm not even done and I've capped.. and i still have a ton of game left to play

the writer makes serious points, but forgot to mention that the reason the gamer is not really considered a consumer or even respected as one is because society and most publishers are still under the impression that the majority of the gamer market is still under the age of 16. So to the them the real consumer is the parent.

The gamers age market is actually more along the lines of 17-30yrs old. i for one am 35 and still game quite frequently. and i know lots of families th...
