The overuse of motion blur is a dead give away for most dreams created FPS games.
Most developers are working from home right now because of Covid including massive studios such as DICE.
Most maps are started with basic shapes and assets to create a rough idea of lanes, lines of site etc. Map designers aren't art designers. All the bells and whistles come afterwards when the art team get to work. This is very much how most games start out from UE4 and Unity to Dreams.
It really is as bad as I remember. I bought it again on PS4 after hating it on PS3. I gave it another chance and left hating it more.
Except it's not. Is the player base going down? Yes. But there's still literally tens of millions playing it and still one of the highest grossing games in the world.
It's a meme to hate Fortnite just as it was to hate COD before it.
The launch models are the ones that tend to look the best/most premium. Apart from the PSone, I've always favoured the launch designs over the slim models.
The XBone UI is still pretty bad. I understand they wanted to unify the Windows 10 look across all their products but having menus, inside of menus inside of menus is cumbersome with a controller. It needs a massive overhaul for next generation.
Imagine being offended because two woman kiss who aren't even real. Get a grip of your existence.
I bought Shadow Keep after having a few years break from D2. It was all nearly reused stuff from the D2 campaign and areas and weapons from D1. They then spread out the season loot though battle passes, each season meant new battle pass, on top of the £30 (IIRC) expansion price It's a disgusting model and one I'm surprised the community accepts.
MGS4 was amazing and the perfect send off of the story. The scenes of snake in the microwave chamber for lack of better wording, I thought it was the end for snake.
I shed a man tear for MGS4. The only other game that managed to do that was The Walking Dead. Powerful writing.
@The Aquanox, this isn't just an American thing no more. This is happening globally. There's no getting through to your ignorance.
@The Aquanox, stop being so god damned ignorant. A lot of radio stations, artists, creators etc are or have stopped everything to not take anything away from what is happening now. As much as were all hyped for the PS5 reveal, there's a much greater moment happening in the world right now that they don't want anything to take away from that.
It's nothing to do with what the competition are doing.
The reveal has been postponed
@BigBoss, it's a shame the convenience of N4G is amazing but its definitely going down hill. There used to be new articles and news on the front page hourly. Now it can be half a day. It's not even that there's no news because there's loads happening when you check individual websites but that more tedious than coming to N4G.
N4G has been slow for months now. I'm assuming there's a lack of people approving article etc. It's slowly becoming one of the worst places to check for new, breaking gaming news.
Until digital game prices come down, which they won't, I will never fully commit to digital unless on sale.
Here in the UK a game can be bought £15-20 cheaper physical than from a digital store. Getting rid of physical would also eliminate competitive pricing, meaning we'd be forced to pay full RRP off the consoles store.
Although I hope they do show it off, the OS will have been getting designed a long, long time before a plastic case.
The PS5 is backwards compatible then it would need the touch pad for almost every single Sony exclusive. Not sure how it's being labeled as stuck with it. It's good when used right.
I loved them set pieces. Imagine the scale they could do now with next gen hardware. Full on earthquakes, earth flattening explosions etc. Could be insane.
I really hope they get rid of that sand bag mechanic from BF5. Such a cheap way to implement destruction and ruined the flow of the gameplay.
This sounds awful lol
Let racers be fun again. I know that Sims have their place in going but this generation we've had to many Sims and not enough good old arcade racers. It's disgusting the neglect they've had this generation.
