I know where you're coming from, because when I was in the BETA I felt the same at first, Slow, Boring, and yawn inducing. But the more I got into that game and started playing the game the way it was meant to be played the more rewarding the game was to me. The maps IMO opinion except for one (which I cant name off the top of my head, it's the smallest one in the rotation) are prefect for all types of players.

Thats because you are a twitch gamer, You most likely play FFA, TDM or other game modes where you get endless spawns. If you played modes like Search and Destroy or even HQ you'll find that the pacing can be as slow and more tactical like that in which Metal Gear online is meant to be played. I for one am glad that MGO is a totally different experience from CoD4. If I feel like playing CoD4, I'll play CoD4, I won't play MGO expecting it to play like CoD4.
I really like what C.B. said if he meant what he said. Whether he hates or Loves MGS4 doesn't change what I feel for him as a game designer.
I personally feel C.B. is one of the most talented designer out there but he is very limited as to what his scope is. Whether he hates or loves MGS doesn't change that. But thats one of the best parts of MGS4 its your choice as to how you want to go through the experience. But fair warning playing through MGS4 without watching the cut-scenes is like sex without the orgasm, still enjoyable but at the end it could of always been better.

The 4870 cards have been shown to match up pretty similar to numbers the GT280 puts out. For about $100 less in average I rather have a 4870 than a 280 card. But yeah in terms of Raw horsepower Nvidia is still number 1.
pretty lame, that you don't get what he is saying. For a game like Bioshock to be a success is something of a surprise. For a shooter, the game approaches the genre in a somewhat original way. Considering that most of the successful games that make it big are cookie cutters of their predecessors Halo3 and GTA4 to name a couple. for a game who's spiritual prequels were more cult classics then mainstream hits it is quite surprising that this game was a big hit.
About time. Even though this won't do anything in the grand scheme of things, but babysteps do count for something. Hopefully this article will do something to raise the awareness of parents and make them stop listening to people like Jack Thompson and Hilary Clinton who don't anything about videogames.
In all honesty, I do not want anymore Metal Gear games. The game and series as a whole has the perfect ending. Why go on with the series?
Whether it's a prequel or a sequel, I don't want it. MGS4 is (to me anyway) the greatest game I have played, before this it was FF VII. There have been great games that I have played but none like MGS4. Cliffy B's comments don't change my preceptive on that. he is who he is, and I really think he was taking out of context.
I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but even if he meant it the way it sounded, so what MGS4 is still my #1 game.
and to add to that point. While the PS3 seems to losing 3rd parties left and right. their first and second party studios seem stronger than ever and to me they have the strongest inside studios out of the 3 companies.
