Those screens looks fantastic, can't wait to see the game on the Vita-screen after it does it's magic.
There is nothing wrong with the amount of games coming to Vita. It's a fairly steady stream now in the summer, I've got a big backlog allready.
The problem is the media don't want to cover handhelds, that's a problem both 3DS and Vita face.
At E3 forinstance, Sony had more than 20 games in the booth, but the only ones who gave a decent rundown of impressions of the various games there were, PSNation-podcast and PSNstores.
Hobbyists, wh...
Games for Vita is fine..
There's no problem pausing the Vita..
If you don't want to break up the experience when you play something like Uncharted, you can buy Unit 13 - that's a good third person shooter, meant for handheld, and much shorter bursts of play.
It's not Uncharted tough, but Golden Abyss is.
If you don't want Hot Shots Golf, you can buy Mini-golf.
There is lot's of shorter games experiences aswell as big con...
Gamers recognise art when they see it, just as much as any consumer of other media. I.e. when a game like Journey come along, people will respond.
This is the first handheld I can play without any hand-issues in my hands for 7-8 hours stratight, PSP/DS and 3DS gives me hand-cramps after an hour or two.
So I wouldn't change the design, other than moving the speakers away from finger-area, and maybe have the accessory-input relocated for more convenience when carrying it. :P
There is some grips out wich you can buy wich will fix your holding issues, if you want it to feel more like a regular controller.
I love my Vita, am are very happy with the games I'm getting.
Even tough it's only 6 months old, it definately keeps up with the other consoles with exclusive releases in these slow months, maybe PS3 have a few more games every once in a while.
Multiplatform-games will offcourse do abit better, when the various game-engines matures, and the games start coming day-and-day with the other platforms.
- Really impressive what Persona 4: Golden did,...
@AO1JMM
Didn't mean to indicate that Nintendo never made new franchises..
Just tought they had been lacking _this_ generation, couldn't recall any new Nintendo-IP's for the Wii, besides the various Wii XXX-games..
Last Story, Captain Rainbow and Endless Ocean are exelent examples.
But stuff like Nintendogs, Pikmin, Kirby, Donkey Kong aren't new IP this generation, that's franchises wich we've played on several consoles...
Not really uptodate on Nintendo, since I'm a GFX-dude.
But for Wii I can only recall Wii Sports and Wii Music, as the only new first party franchises the entire generation.. :-/
Is there any other new IP's?
@DarkHeroZX, No it dosn't, it says '10 of the best PS Vita games for under £10 each'.
Very cool episode.. :)
Stewart Gilray should be with you every week.. :P
I only have played Strangers Wraith on PS3 before, and that were fantastic. - So I really look forward to the remaining Oddworld-remakes. :) Didn't know that Tim Wright/Cold Storage did the music for Gravity Crash, and alot of other cool games.
- I allready had two of his songs on my Vita-playlist from Puggs in Space demo - gonna put atleast one or two of the early PC/PS1 Wipeout-song...
It's just that journalists opinion of 10 of the best games for less than 10£. It's not Vita's best games.
Yeah.. It were pretty good.. :)
Not awe-inspiring like Uncharted: GA, but for Nihilistics first attempt at a FPS and on a handheld, it were pretty good.
I'd put it with Resistance 2, if it were at consoles.
Not as good as R1 and R3 tough.
It's totally worth the asking price, and then some. :) It's not necesarrily a two hour game either.
Sure you'll probably complete it at about that time, your first time. If you don't walk around to much in the dessert, but you'll most likely want to take more journeys, with other people..
It got amazing replayability, I allmost never replay games - I only replayed the campaign in Uncharted 2 and Heavenly Sword on PS3, before Journey.
Vita is not part of the publishers multiplatform-portofolio at the moment. The platform is too new.
It got/get a new retail exclusive entries in Mortal Kombat and Resistance, both big franchises this month, but not many of the multiplatform titles were there yet.
Despite the fact that most devs say it's rather easy to get stuff running on Vita.
But it did have more platform-exclusives than 3DS/Wii/DS and 360 this month. Only PS3 and PC had more. :-/
Dumb article, can't expect a set-top box with chat-functionality like 360, to have as many exclusive games as games-gonsoles such as PS3 and Wii.
Great feature for us PS+ members with auto-download.
Makes the games ready to play, come release-day. :)
It's not a great podcast if you want a podcast with only exclusive news - however that podcast dosn't excist.
But it's definately the best independant fan-podcast were you get to hear interviews with game-devs on a regular basis, and can pose questions if you bother to send in.
I didn't join the beta, I knew I were going to buy this game since I played Warhawk at launch, and decided the devs knew what they were doing.
I'm pret...
This game is a game developed, published and owned by Tate Interactive. It's true it's coming to PSVita aswell as Iphone, Ipad and 3DS - it's a multiplatform-game not 'a idea' stolen by Sony - the reason why people will think of this as a Vita-game is that it will probably be best there since it has dual analogue-sticks.
LBP Karting also seems to be a very different beast from the Mario Kart Racing-games - it's the Modnation guys making a kart-race...
Don't look at console sites like IGN.
Much better to check PSP-sites- and blogs like psp2roundup.blogspot, psnstores, and psnation podcast for PSVita news.
Regular media don't care about the handheld games.
Last mnoth we got;
Resistance: Burning Skies, Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, Pulzar (PSN only), Gravity Daze, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Metal Gear HD Collection
Pretty good for a summer-month.
And in July and ...
