Back in my day, there was no online gaming to speak of and we didn't have a screen to hide behind when playing against someone in the arcade. Talking trash had repercussions, so most people kept their eyes forward and their mouths shut. Today, people hide behind their anonymity because it gives them the power to be as hateful as they want. I'm sorry, but I will not "man the hell up and deal with the toxicity." They're cowards and their actions should have consequences.
No worries. :)
You mean Eazy-E.
I think you're missing the point. Do you really think people bought the NES Classic for a mere 30 games they could easily emulate on a cheaper Raspberry Pi? Ascetics are half of the appeal. As someone who owns two different models of the original PS1 and a PS2 Slim, I'd still be interested in something like this.
I gave up on COD after AW (oh, how I loathed that game), but this just might pull me back. My only concern is that it's being made by Sledgehammer, the studio responsible for two of the worst games in the franchise (MW3/AW).
I'm still waiting for the day GTA lets you enter every building/house/structure. That would be more impressive to me than any amount of real estate.
It's PlayStation, not Playstation. The brand has been around for 22 years. How have people not caught on to this yet? It's as bad as 'XBox'.
A disagree? Really? It was legitimate curiosity.
@mikeslemonade
Second most important element? More like third. If it doesn't have a good story and/or game play, then who cares what it looks like? Graphics become obsolete, but story and game play make a game memorable.
8 hours to walk across Just Cause 3's map? Damn. I wonder how long it would take to walk across The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall's map (62,394 square miles).
It's kind of a slippery slope. As I'm sure you know, Mario first appeared in Donkey Kong (1981). Even though he was the protagonist, it technically wasn't his game or franchise. The second game in the series, Donkey Kong Jr. (1982), featured DK Jr. as the protagonist and Mario as the antagonist. These two games pre-date the original Mario Bros. (1983). Mario wasn't in the original DK3 at all, but they swapped Stanley with Mario in the GBA port included in the Game & Watch ...
Mario isn't on the list. Fail.
It would be nice if N4G did something about these fucking spammers.
Oh wow, I haven't seen/heard anything on Daymare 1998. Thanks for the clarification.
If you're referring to the original Resident Evil, it came out in 1996. It takes place in 1998, though. But I agree. I feel like the zombie genre jumped the shark with 28 Days Later. I suppose running zombies have their place (TLoU), but one of the things that made George A. Romero's zombies scary was their sheer numbers and the fear of being overwhelmed in a claustrophobic sense. It didn't matter if they were slow because they didn't stop. You couldn't rest. Not really. I...
You talk about Titanfall 2 as if it didn't go head-to-head with Battlefield 1 and Infinite Warfare. You also talk about what consumers are apparently tired of as if the new Doom and Overwatch weren't a success.
The FPS is a genre that has taken many forms since the early '90s. It isn't going anywhere.
'Fixed an issue where Patch 1.10 did not offer a retroactive solution for some players who encountered an issue with a Tallneck’s datapoint that did not unlock when they had fast-traveled away while on top of the Tallneck instead of rappelling down. Players who encountered this, should revisit the Tallneck again and leave the area to unlock the datapoint.'
Hallelujah! I sent Guerrilla a direct message on Twitter shortly after 1.10 because it didn't include a ret...
I realize the parent is at the mercy of what's immediately available to him, but I would've started their education in the 8-bit era, with some golden age arcade games for good measure. Still, good on him. It's an experience his kids will remember for the rest of their lives, and it could open doors for them in the future.
No other war comes close to WW2. Have some respect for our greatest generation.
@thekhurg
Says the guy who jumped in to defend Titanfall 2 when someone said it sucked, lol.
