I love both franchises, but both have their pros and cons.

I think TLoU has a much better story. The multiplayer is fun and unique, but the pay to win weapons put a blemish on it.

Gears doesn't really do anything great in the way of story-telling, but it's a fun ride nonetheless. Multiplayer has gotten more refined throughout the series and is still a blast to play.

In other words, I'd choose TLoU's story and Gears' multip...

"They could make it expire in 1 day and I wouldn't care."

As long as it doesn't affect you, right? It sounds like you just like to argue for the sake of arguing. You still don't seem to get it, so let's just agree to disagree.

@Foehammer

Judging by your comment history, I bet I can guess which game you won't be playing. Explains why you jumped on my case over my statements about the Xbox Preview Program (which I'm in by the way) and Microsoft in general. lol

On topic, I'll be playing all of these.

So many snarky people on here.

@Foehammer

This article is related to Microsoft, is it not? And apparently you missed the part where I said the story was a bit of a stretch (which was an opinion about the article, thus on topic). Why would I bring up the rootkit scandal when it has nothing to do with Microsoft? You have 3 bubbles for a reason. Shoosh.

@Mystogan, @MrKrispy

The evidence is there if you bother to look. It's a very real thing. There's plenty of high profile websites reporting it as well. Much of the privacy issues can be corrected directly through the GUI, but there's a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on, too. If these privacy issues are just a figment of people's imaginations, then how do you explain the numerous privacy tools for Windows 10 on the web right now? Such a tool wasn't ne...

I say this as someone who mainly gamed on Xbox and Xbox 360 (I also have an Xbox One, but I rarely use it in favor of the PS4.)

Microsoft is dumb.

This story is a bit of a stretch, but it doesn't surprise me considering some of the things they've been doing lately. They're control freaks.

I was really looking forward to Windows 10, and even installed it, before I found out that it spies on everything you do. You're basically w...

Like I said, objective thoughts. :) I'm sure people will like a lot of the things I don't. I personally feel the sliding gives the game too much of a run and gun feel. They could've easily allowed you to shoot during a dive. I had a blast diving through second story windows in previous BO games.

If your 25mpbs makes a difference, then I suppose my 85mbps should also, eh? It wasn't my ISP or anything on my end. It was also happening to 3 of my friends -- one who lives near me, another who lives in Canada, and another who lives on the opposite side of the country. That probably means it's the game. ;) Maybe you just got lucky, or didn't notice.

There's different kinds of lag, you know. When I say lag, I'm talking about frame rate stutters. It happen...

I was highly looking forward to Treyarch's entry, but it didn't suck me in as much as WaW, BO1 and BO2 did.

My subjective thoughts:

PROS

+ It's better than Advanced Warfare in nearly every way.
+ Almost every gun is effective. Maybe too effective.
+ The class system is kind of neat.
+ You can paint your guns.
+ No dashing, which slows the pace down a bit, making game types like S&D relevant agai...

No lag? Were you playing the same game as me? There was the occasional lag spike before the beta went public. It was a lot more frequent after that.

No kidding. I'm still waiting for an option to disable the annoying Discover popup.

From the article regarding the original MG1 and 2: "Unfortunately both games are hard to revisit (or play for the first time) simply because they haven’t aged that well."

What?! This is entirely subjective, but I disagree whole-heartedly. I played the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 via an MSX2 emulator (using translation patches) for the very first time just a few years ago, and they were effing phenomenal. They definitely aged well if, like me, you have an ap...

@DragonKnight: No, it won't. Most people have better things to do than keep track of who's actually active on their friends list(s) (or troll forums for that matter). Of course I don't cycle through playing with 100+ people, but that's not the point. If someone on my list isn't active for a long time for whatever reason, there's a good chance I'll remove them if I don't really know them. There's no way of knowing how long someone has been inactive, though. ...

It's about usability. Knowing the last time people signed into something gives you an idea of how often they use whatever it is they're signing in to, which helps with the occasional purging of your friends list, among other things.

And all the basic sense in the world isn't going to help you keep track of 100+ people.

It sounds like DragonKnight is trying to use Wikipedia's definition of backward compatibility to suit his argument:

"If products designed for the new standard can receive, read, view or play older standards or formats, then the product is said to be backward-compatible."

The thing is, that definition doesn't have a citation to back it up.

I can run old DOS games on modern hardware using DOSBox. Does that make those games bac...

There's worse things in life than someone "stealing" something they can't even hold in their hands.

I know it's easy to think that all pirates are the scum of the earth, but they come from all walks of life and they're not all bad people. Even John Carmack admittedly pirated a game or three in his prime.

I don't condone theft, but I'm a firm believer that piracy has no bearing on the success or failure of a game. If it's ...

I play a lot of console FPS, and I personally wouldn't go as far as saying it has some of the best FPS controls to date. If we're talking button layout, then yeah, that part felt good. But the free look and hit detection aren't exactly precise.

I wouldn't call CV HD/RE4 HD/RE0 HD "remakes". More like remasters. It sounds like the RE2 remake will be of the same vain as the original REmake (hopefully). A lot of fans have been waiting YEARS for this, myself included.
