"Unfortunately this is the truth, but what we can do is do our best to make people like that feel alienated, uncomfortable, and outcast. Racists will always exist, but we can make sure they get no support and keep it to themselves."
This is what irks me about today's society. Sweeping racists under the rug is NOT the answer. Publicly shaming them, taking their jobs away, etc., isn't going to make them any less of a racist. All it does is make them someone ...
"glitches/economy exploits are different than say a wall hack or aim bot"
Tell that to Rockstar. They punished people for abusing economy exploits in GTA Online.
Many developers seem to give free passes, but cheating is cheating and I commend Blizzard for putting their foot down. If a cheater doesn't know what they're doing is wrong, then they have no business playing the game with others.
Is the severity even relevant? Giving yourself an unfair advantage -- whether it's by in-game exploits, hacks, or whatever -- is cheating. Period. It's easy to blame the developer for not making a bug-free game, but people don't magically stumble upon this stuff. There's communities that are devoted to it, and it spreads like wildfire thanks to sites like YouTube. Blizzard will know if you've abused something.
Those who assume that the average Joe will get banned for accidentally stumbling upon a ban-worthy offense aren't giving Blizzard enough credit. There's a lot of data behind it. Relax.
I read something not too long ago about how some banned cheaters have purchased the game several times over, even to play the game legitimately, and are still getting banned no matter how they try to get around it. The system is pretty elaborate and not as simple as changing your MAC.
I got platinum on it as well and highly enjoyed it. Besides graphics, how exactly did it fall short of what was promised?
I agree that it was over-hyped, but only graphically. To me, that's not much of a reason to hate anything.
As of yesterday, there was a rumor floating around about it taking place in San Francisco, so no surprise there. As a Bay Area native who enjoyed the first game, I'm looking forward to it.
Frankly, I wish half the people playing this game on PS4 would go back to CoD. It's frustrating playing with a bunch of incompetent gamers who run around like it's TDM and not helping their team at all. DO NOT play this game by yourself. It requires actual skill and teamwork.
On topic, it's perfectly okay not to be interested in something. I just don't understand why people put so much energy into being verbal about it. Live and let live.
They're definitely cheating. A friend and I have been downed from clear across the map with no possible way of being in someone's line of sight (one player was highlighted at the time of my death), and there seems to be a way to gain unlimited Mysticals, because he saw a player rapidly spamming the one that revives teammates instantly, and we both saw a couple of players that never ran out of Spirit of the Djinn. Fortunately, we haven't encountered these asshats often.
@cyberwaffles
Fair enough. I just think it's a bit hypocritical. Both sides of the argument should learn to be a little more tolerant. Spreading hate has never solved anything.
Maybe because online multiplayer support wasn't added until the day one patch?
@cyberwaffles
I'm not religious, so no. Sorry. I just find it amusing when someone uses words like 'hypocrite', 'zealot', and 'bigot' to describe an entire group of people during a hate rant. Again, what makes you better?
Does being a hypocritical bigot make you better?
*** DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED UNCHARTED 4 ***
Honestly, I'm hoping the DLC has something to do with their daughter, seeing as she's an up-and-coming archaeologist based on the magazine(s) she's on the cover of In the epilogue.
*** DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED UNCHARTED 4 ***
As much as I love Uncharted, I sincerely hope they don't make any more. At least not anytime soon. I think Uncharted 4 wrapped up everything nicely. Why ruin that with more sequels or prequel nonsense? If anything, I wouldn't mind a game in the same vein starring an older Cassie, with some cameos from the original cast. Other than that, I'm content with Nathan Drake's adventures coming to an end. It...
I'll personally miss the atmosphere of the Souls games, but I also really enjoyed Salt and Sanctuary and the Nioh alpha demo. As long as devs do something original with the Souls formula, I'll embrace it. Just please don't over-saturate the market.
"Son of a bitch!"
Welcome to the web. Sadly, it's all about getting hits and generating revenue -- not actual journalism.
I liked Aiden, but his story ran its course and the series was left open for new horizons. I'm glad the series is trying to explore new areas and people. It's really no different than GTA in that sense. In contrast to the first game, WD2 definitely has a different vibe to it, but I'm willing to look past that.
