Be careful what you wish for.
Because writing on other video games is so great? I find it interesting that people will criticize writing on specific video games when they're all pretty much tripe.
Yep. Was gonna post something like this, but I'll just bubble up you. ;)
Why is it that companies are so eager to blame anyone but themselves? Oh wait, doing that is what CAUSED them to fail.
Not really sure why you're surprised. Multiplayer looks Smash Bros-level awesome.
I guess I'm not sure how anyone "knew" that this was the expected MSRP when the placeholder price was displayed until just a few weeks ago. Is this a "I am guessing that Crush 3D will be 19.99 because it is an old game" thing or do you have some sort of insider information that allowed you to definitively know differently than the placeholder? I'm not trolling you, I just want to understand how you knew. Because for consumers like me that only see the placeholde...
Ironic English errors aside, one year of losses is not indicative of a company's success or failure. Many companies survive with very few liquid assets and Nintendo has a ton of them. The fact that you think they're doomed due to this one year indicates two possibilities: 1) YOU don't know how business works or 2) You're a Fanboy that will meld any facts to support your anti-Nintendo agenda.
I suppose it could be both. Oh...ha ha...one bubble. Now I get ...
Well, it was 29.99 or 39.99 until just a couple of weeks ago when they announced the new price.
Its funny you mention PS2 cutscenes because I'm playing Tales of the Abyss on 3DS right now and I just encountered a few short (and sweet) cutscenes and felt exactly as you describe. I had just beaten a hard arse boss and totally felt rewarded.
Well said. When I read the title I thought: "So, you're going to replace them with cutscenes with one of three button press choices and somehow consider that unbelievably more sophisticated?"
Game writers are not good story tellers. Changing how cut scenes work isn't going to improve the stories in games. Its a band aid solution to a bleeding artery.
Sounds to me like you don't know the library. And that you seem to measure quality solely based upon the number of hours...? I like long games that I can really chew on too, but the ten hours I spent playing Super Mario Land were ridiculously fun. The ten hours I spent on the campaign of Resi Revelations were super fun. Short games. But quality for the time. Those are just two of MANY examples.
That's like saying: "I'm gonna be pretty upset when I end up buying a bucket of fish guts." Well, duh. Nobody forced you to buy anything. Are you one of those gamers that for some god-awful reason thinks that your purchases are out of your control?
So, basically, you bought a device without considering whether you'd like it? Who exactly is at fault there?
This is a pretty naive article. A couple points:
1) iTunes didn't allow you to share amongst devices through cloud NOR download old purchases on new devices until late last year. So, its not like Apple had some brilliant plan. They were VERY late to the party.
2) All of the clauses that people ignore for digital downloads say that you don't own any of the files. They can pull them from their shop and OFF YOUR DEVICE at any time. This isn't u...
I don't disagree, IF whoever the manufacturer is still produces quality games with depth. The fact that "depth" of gaming experience never enters the conversation here should be a concern for all console gamers. It reveals to us that mobile and tablet makers don't understand the market. Ultimately I'll vote with my wallet, and if future tablet and mobile games can't become deep, I just won't play video games anymore. I have very little time to game and I won&...
I think you're just missing the simple truth that if people will pay more, then they'll pay more. You don't want to pay that much. Great. But when they released the eSHOP financial report for the first six months they made something like 12 million bucks. I think that's a pretty good sign that the price works.
You absolutely have the right to speak your mind. That doesn't mean I have to agree with it. ;) That's the problem with the internet isn&...
You know that it costs them money to port the game over to 3DS, right? Its not like you just drag the file from a computer into the eSHOP. They have to cover their costs.
That said, from a marketing perspective, a company can set any price they want, if people will buy it. Let's say that they sell 10,000 units at 99 cents and 2,000 units at five dollars. There is no difference in the gross profit. So long as 2000 people are willing to pay the five dollars, they don&...
The fair price is what people are willing to pay. If people are willing to pay 4 pounds 50, that's there problem, not Nintendo's. Speak with your wallet. Too steep for you? Don't buy it.
Not even reading the comments because I can predict what they say ahead of time:
"3DS Bomb!"
"No Not! Vita Bomb!"
"You stupid."
"No, you stupid."
Did I get it right?
3rd version pokemon games are the biggest scam in gaming. They offer very little extra content than the first game. They are only good for people that didn't complete one of the first two versions. So, maybe "scam" is a strong word, because if it allows people that didn't get in on the first two versions to experience it, they are sort of like a "gold" version. But, if they expect someone who played black or white already to play this and people actually do, it...
Complaining about the story in any video game is like complaining about the Chinese food served at an Italian restaurant.
