It really is better in almost every way. All of the buttons and switches are MUCH sturdier. There is some pixellation due to the larger screen, but you're not going to notice that unless you have eagle eyes and have a poor and overdemanding attitude towards graphics power. The screen scratch issue SHOULD be fixed, because the little rubber nubs actually rest on the raised ridge around the touch screen, but not touching the screen itself. If you SQUEEZE it, in a pocket, dust and debris...

If you don't have Fry's in your state, the best deal is probably a $20 gaming coupon from Kmart. If you live in Nebraska or Missouri, Nebraska Furniture Mart offers your choice of Tetris Axis or Starfox 3D with purchase. Happy shopping!

So if you end up not buying the single player because it isn't up to your quality standards, and a lot of other people do the same, companies learn from consumer feedback that they expect the single player game to get better.

Now, that could backfire, and they could end up just ceasing to produce single player games. But, I don't think that would happen because there will always be demand for single player games in rural areas where internet access doesn't make m...

People who are uninterested in playing online because it is either populated by 12-year-old douches, or adults who act like 12-year-old-douches.

I played a lot online...until I came to my senses and realized that the "interaction" isn't worth the social torture. If it means that I have to pay for just single player and you have to pay for just online, then I am happy.

I mean, I don't understand why people would be upset by this. Most gam...

I promise you that mulder1617 (the original article poster) is singing this right now:

"Trololololololololololo l."

It doesn't matter that you're all right (which you are). He just wanted to get his rocks off by seeing your reaction. Sad, really.

You need to get some experience with the urban poor if you don't understand how some people would not have a PC, yet have a game system.

I think its awesome that you all can't envision a consumer who doesn't have a PC, or a smartphone, for whom this version of the game is the only option, and who will gladly pay it. Or kids, whose parents have made the choice not to allow them computer or smartphone time, but have made the call that they can have a 3DS for roadtrips or something. Or, someone with a limited income who chooses a game system as their one option for entertainment (instead of a PC or smart phone, which ar...

While I completely agree with your last sentence, I take issue with the idea that dual screens is a gimmick. Most games are organized around the gameplay/menu duality and one of the main reasons I like the dual screen concept is that it allows me to see info about the game characters and the game itself simultaneously. This is especially useful in RPGs (a/t/or j varieties) and tactical strategy games. There is nothing that I hated more than having to switch to a menu screen whenever I need...

Interesting how he gives this a 7 (widely reported by EU gamers as buggy and way too easy) and yet gives KIU a 5 (highly appreciated by gamers who have the patience to learn the controls). I really wanted HoR to be good, but the report from the EU has not been favorable the last month.

The wall climbing "puzzles" that you are speaking of are no different from a lot of the puzzles in classic games. They're just dressed. To say that you need the dressing in order to create a puzzle is just incorrect. Mamotte is correct. Some of you are too awesome to play old games, apparently. Last I checked, people are still playing and loving Chrono Trigger and the original Final Fantasy games. Plus countless others that look "bad" by modern standards but have...

Sorry, length limitations. Many may have TL:DRed a long time ago anyway. ;P Second part:

And just so you know, I've had an iPAD 2 for eight months through work. I stopped using it because I'm a grown up and I have a limited amount of time to game, given my work and home ownership and marriage and three dogs, and I can get my work done a heck of a lot faster with the PC than I can on the tablet. PC work means more time for 3DS gaming.

I would make t...

It isn't that we're threatened. Its that we demand a quality experience. And the development teams that make a tablet game and sell it for 6 bucks aren't going to produce as good of an experience as a AAA game. They can't. They don't have the people or equipment. And even the ones that do have stellar graphics, will always suffer from control scheme issues. So what are our options?

1. Touch screen controls. Usually either too responsive or not resp...

And yet, at the end of the day, the gameplay is the same. So what does all this matter if the gameplay is good? What does it matter if the gameplay is poor? If the gameplay sucks, and you're a Vita owner, do you say to yourself: "Well, at least it looked better than the other console?"

I tell ya, gamers are barking up the wrong tree when they attempt to "compare" games and systems.

4981d ago 4 agree18 disagreeView comment

This isn't wrong, but you're implying like its some sort of contest. Does the Vita have to have better graphics in order for you to sleep at night or something?

Gameplay is the only thing that ultimately matters. Which is why it was recently ironic that Sony ran an add about one of their FPS' and lauding how the second analogue means better gaming. The game they used to "justify" their tech benefits has a 53/100 on Metacritic.

This is...

Yeah, I think you're right. It doesn't look that great for either system.

The article is kinda a troll article anyway. The Vita is obviously capable of better graphics. This isn't about who has better graphics. Gamers who buy a 3DS aren't looking for the best graphics. They're looking for IPs they like.

Actually, not true. Did you read the article? I know its by Chris "I'm super-biased" Modojo, but if you read it, there are some key things that people who actually own 3DS' are interested in seeing on the XL:

1) The reports are saying that the bigger screen is allowing for a better "sweet spot" for viewing 3D images, making it a lot easier on the eyes. The 3D is something to "try" that is potentially different.

2)Not m...

The article writer is obviously hurt that the game ending up being something different than what he expected. Different is not synonymous with bad. A lot of people wanted a game with a huge end game, but instead they got a game that is designed to be played over and over again, like classic video games.
