Probably because we're playing games and enjoying them? Most of the people commenting on how Nintendo is "doomed" and "horrible" don't even play the games on the systems. The proof is in the pudding, and the fact is that there are a lot of great games out on the system right now. Just because you don't like the system doesn't mean the system is doomed. Its the classic gamer attitude: "I don't like a system, so its doomed."
Nothing like a good troll article to bring out the anti-Nintendo trolls.
All I'll say is that I have yet to play a tablet or smart phone that comes even remotely close to what is offered on consoles. Heck, there are GBA titles that I enjoyed playing a heck of a lot more than any tablet game.
Tablet and smartphone companies don't understand gaming, folks. Stop acting like they do just because you were wowed by a dumb game you played for a few hours. ...
You clearly don't follow the 3DS at all because it isn't sinking. If anything, its doing much much better than the DS did at this time in its life cycle.
Kid Icarus: Uprising is a good test of how adaptable a gamer is. The learning curve on the controls is a half hour to an hour, but it becomes more and more natural. People who actually play the game have realized that dual analogue would never work for it, because the game moves too quickly to be able to keep up with dual analogue. Just because a control scheme is an established staple does not mean that it is "best" for a game. IMagine controlling World of Warcraft with a dual ...
On the internet, you can be an expert in anything, even when you're not!
Do we honestly think game companies don't think about these things? Just because you thought about the issue today, doesn't mean the company hasn't been thinking about this issue since they made consoles.
Shut your pie hole. Sheesh. Dumb article.
Well...duh. These were all listed as concerns of the device far before the release and low and behold its coming true. Both the Wii and PSP are outselling it in Japan. Not because its abad device, but because Wii and PSP are cheaper and have a larger catalogue. Sony is doing exactly what Nintendo did with the 3DS at its launch. Messing it up. They better announce 50 games at E3 or it actually will be doomed.
Now watch carefully to what's gonna happen here: Vita fan...
Two problems with this attitude:
1) It ends used sales for a lot of games, which many gamers depend upon to continue playing after their initial investment.
2) You aren't really "owning" anything but ones and zeros. It may be an end to backwards compatibility. It could be a disadvantage to you as a consumer in ways you haven't thought of. For example, you don't "own" any of your iTunes or Android shop content. It says in th...
Buy it before they go out of business, I guess.
Funny, I expected an "insider" article to have more "insider" information. Thanks for telling me things I already know.
If you return a game you don't like after a few days, its a signal that you 1) didn't do your research or 2)have impulse buy control problems.
If gamers got smarter , Gamestop wouldn't be able to use this tactic. Gamers created this business model, not the industry, and not Gamestop. Its a result of dumb pe...
To be fair...they do have very beautiful looking fantasy worlds. Where you can choose left.....or.....right....as your control options! ;P But hey, its pretty, so that's all that matters to gamers, right?
All they have to do is keep doing what they're doing. Smart phone gaming is a fad that non-gamers participate in to pass time. When the new phone bell/whistle comes out, they'll switch to it.
Heroes of Ruin is almost certainly going to be delayed. They haven't had the sense to communicate about it and so you get things like the eSHOP claiming that the game has released when it hasn't.
Thank God we have writers from the financial post to tell us these things! I recommend that you spend time with the controls before you just write them off. It seems that people are so babied by set control schemes that they refuse to accept learning a new control scheme as an inherent challenge of the game.
This guy needs to actually play the game. The AR cards are not as exciting as his nerdy wet dreams imagine.
That said, the game itself is FANTASTIC and its kinda sad that the AR cards are the thing he is MOST excited for.
Everybody is consistent in finding flaws with the ground control scheme, but there is a wide variety in how well people are handling it.
To be fair, the Destructoid review says the same negatives that every other review does. The difference is in how you interpret the negatives. For Jim "I'm King A-Hole of The World" Sterling, it's a deal breaker for him. That's his choice. All I would say is that individual people have to make judgments as to whether the control scheme is a deal breaker for them. Many reviewers seem to think that the rest of the game makes up for the control scheme issues.

Just so you know, people who have attended the release tournaments have confirmed that the only thing the CPP does for the game is allow you to play it left handed. The extra circle pad does not allow you to aim if you are right handed. Stylus and button aiming are the only aiming options.
Hicken's "Ignore" score increases to 12! Achievement unlocked!
Says the person with one bubble.
Is the closest there is right now, but not even remotely close to having stuff as good as what are on the dedicated handhelds right now. It si a step in the right direction.
