Only thing removed is the character switching. Also the combat is now like a fusion of type 0, Kingdom Hearts, and maybe a little of Dragon's Dogma, compared to Versus 13 which was extremely similar to Kingdom Hearts battle system. Some people are misinformed that there was manual weapon switching in Versus 13 but Nomura stated in interviews that weapons switched automatically (like now, with a weapon deck). Warping is still in. Phantom Swords still in. Climbing big enemies still in. Taba...
At times it seems like the Japanese almost WANT to ignore Western fans. I think they don't like us lol.
This guy is such a freaking hipster.
Yeah it makes since that Japan only gets this badass version. Its not like Metal Gear sells better in the West…oh wait it does.
"FF15 won't have a story"….yup you're definitely an irrational fellow.
The funny thing is that I am accused of being a Nomura fanboy because of how much I love the KH franchise, but there is no way you can say that Nomura is as clear or as willing to change things as Tabata is.
What are you talking about?
Last time I checked Tabata fixed complaints about the hitstop within like 4 freaking days of fans complaining about it. He is easily the most clear and communicative director final fantasy has ever seen.
Gambit system in FFXV has the potential to be more tactical than tapping X to get through most encounters in past final fantasy games. Hell, even if FFXV requires you to press more than the attack buttons in most encounters, like evading, it will be more strategic than most other entries. And this is coming from someone who absolutely loves FF7 AND FFX
The funny thing is that final fantasy games have always had pretty damn easy stories to get through, despite the "tactical intricate mind engaging gameplay" some people claim them to have simply because they were turn-based. I could beat FF7 and FFX when I was really young and honestly not very good at video games. Mashing X to get through all encounters while healing when hurt and summoning on occasion is really al you need to do to get through most of the scenarios in final fantasy...
You know as strange as it sounds, I really do feel that FF15 is an underdog. After the 13 trilogy, people are instantly quick to dismiss ffxv even though it has the potential to be truly awesome. Its obviously going to sell well enough (well maybe not according to square enix) but in terms of perception, I think it is a dark horse.
Can't believe there was a time when Ubisoft was a good developer.
That's japanese marketing for you.
Geez that quote really depressed me lol. If single player games get shafted more and more as time goes on, there will come a point where I will stop gaming...
Moe needs to die, not anime. 90s anime was awesome. And nowadays some still are, although it is more akin to finding a needle in a haystack of pedophilic crap than anything else….
I'm calling it now, 10 years from now, this era of gaming will be known as "that time that SJWs and feminazis were being all weird and trying to shove their agendas down everyones throat in the gaming industry."
They let this guy create new games, but Ito is stuck in square enix's dungeon rotting? ITO!!!!!! Where are you!!!!!
I know. But Tabata has been much more forthcoming with information and updates even though this game is probably 2016 earliest. Huge Nomura fan btw, don't get me wrong.
Tabata is my hero. Nomura may be the visionary, but Tabata gets shit done.
thats awesome
lol square needs all the money they can get. Do what you gotta do.
