People on the internet underestimate just how huge even a timed exclusive deal for ff7 remake is for sony. This is not a game where most people will casually wait a half or full year to play it on other platforms. Its an enormous get for sony.
Nomura has gone on record several times that he doesn't really like turn based combat, so there is that….Advent children-like combat, oh the possibilities.
I see where people are coming from when they want turn-based and say they will not buy it if it is action based, but I just keep visualizing an advent children type combat system of cloud vs sephiroth and oh man….the possibilities. Also many people have the notion that action rpg=not tactical, even though that is not true at all. Star ocean 3>FF7 in terms of strategy in the combat system. but ff7 is a much much better game overall compared to SO3.
Say what you will about him, but Nomura knows how to make a action JRPG. Also I have no doubt you will be able to play as all the characters and switch between them and do team combos. I'm totally alright with this. I know, commence the disagrees lol

People forget that Tetsuya Nomura has said multiple times in interviews that he doesn't really enjoy turn based games and much prefers real time action because it makes him feel more in control and immersed. I can't believe people are down on a new combat system that could be like a playable Advent Children. As long as it retained the materia system, then I think that would be badass.
