I'm going to play the shit out of both FFXV And xenoblade chronicles x and love them both because I'm not a fanboy. But its funny to call out FFXV character designs (which are pretty modest for Square Enix) when you just watched a video with the main character wearing super skin tight pants that exposed his ass. Lol we all know that solid snake is the only guy character who can pull that off.
They could always just leave it to a porting studio like bluepoint.
I can't recall a game on consoles from in-house Square that was a pure action game in lieu of a turn based game, obviously I'm referring to action RPGS. And of course SOME people like turn based games, but why would a company pour a ton of money into making a turn based console game in this gaming climate when that style of RPG translates so well to handhelds where costs are much lower?
As if an action game would be a bad thing.
This game has Vergil playable. Worth it.
MGSV says yo what up?
Gambits are confirmed for the full game.
@justlikeme
Well you're in luck then! Not CG but it looks so good its hard to tell that it isn't CG. Ramuh does his thing and your jaw will drop I guarantee you.
Yeah man its just so much more satisfying for one button press to correlate with one attack animation. But I will say that it is quite annoying that Tabata is advertising this "hold down the button" so much, and people looking at the game from a distance get the wrong impression.
Geez guy if you're going to write a preview and complain that holding square is unresponsive that just shows how little time or effort you put into it. You can mash square and that is much better in timing combos and transitioning into dodges. Also there is a manual dodge in the demo.
Dang you already got an advanced copy of FFXV and know that the characters aren't as good as the FF13 cast (LOL)? Also the battle system is already more involving than most final fantasy games and this is without the magic system, gambit system, aerial combat, and tons of other stuff.
Tabata is just like "ok y'all hold my beer while I save the Final Fantasy series."
@DragonKnight
Please show me an instance in FFXII promotional material that was half as hype as this summon?
Not to mention this is part of the DEMO meaning it was all happening in real-time.
Funny how the haters don't show up to this article. LOL. they're hiding.
Yup. Phantom swords
@UNKLE
I'm talking about one game in particular. With final fantasy there is a pretty big drop-off in sales with sequels.
This game has the chance to hit ff7 numbers. I really think it does. Just try to market the game to people who like generic Western rpgs by spamming the term "Open World" thousands of time while marketing. If the game can grab a fraction of the Skyrim fanbase I really think it can hit FF7's 10 million. A regular FF sells around 6-7 million. The open world nature of this game has the potential to appeal to a lot more players.
What I don't get is the factor people bring up about lack of free time and lack of space being the main reasons behind lagging console sales. So if that were the case why did Japanese consumers buy consoles a lot more a decade ago? Are you trying to tell me the country changed lifestyles so drastically that now people are expected to work non-stop and just a decade ago they had some free time to play games? I don't doubt that crazy work hours and small living spaces are contributors t...
This title makes it seem like someone has been watching too many conspiracy documentaries.
I don't remember little girl characters being so prevalent in animes and video games in the 90s….wtf happened to japanese entertainment. Little girl characters make up the vast majority of japanese entertainment and I don't get it. Call me ignorant. Small rant over.
