I am sure that you are correct about the hardware encoding on the PS4 but the Xbox One was intended from conception 5 years ago as a streaming console.
My question would still be if the hardware encoder on the PS4 is capable of 720p then why is it not enabled? Does it require CPU/GPU resources that they are not willing to sacrifice? They had assistance from Twitch so they would know the protocols and as far as I know the PS4 is streaming at 560...
It is pretty much nothing like Mine Craft. You can make different genres of games with it and allow others to play those games and you can play games that others make. It is intended for both game creators and people who only want to play games. I have heard of a few RPGs and some shooters already.
I have it downloaded on my PC and Xbox One and will be testing it out over the next few days. Looks like a lot of fun.
