Nintendo survived selling only 20 million Gamecubes only to sell close to 100 million Wii's at a profit each, they've made profit every year of its video game existance except for the last one (only because Wii was essentially dead after 5-6 years and 3DS had a less than expected initial run of sales). While price drops are always nice, I would look at it as a sign of weakness.
