Confirmed X1 is responsible for Fallout?
It's pricey because they're forcing Kinect on everyone. No Kinect, instantly $100 cheaper. I find little benefit in having Kinect as a part of my gaming experience, so PS4 instantly has the edge. There are people who love Kinect and 360 and will buy the $500 console no worries. For someone like me $100 is a lot, $400 is too good of a deal to pass up for a console as good if not better than the Xbox1 (opinions may vary).
I remember getting Pokemon Red with my Gameboy Color when I was young. Pokemon to me is the video game equivalent of comfort food. The basic premise is always the same, it worked before and still works today. Something about being young and growing up with companions hits home, there's a weird attachment you make with your team.
Whatever attracted us in the first gen still attracts others in the fifth and beyond. The first/second gen were such solid titles all Gamefreak ...
I'll be sad if the WiiU doesn't get Fallout4. I could see someone making a PipBoy skin for their gamepad. The highest difficulty could not pause when you use your pipboy, forcing you to move and switch at the same time ala ZombiU
Bethesda most likely looks for two things when they decide to develop for a system: A)Will we make a profit off that system alone. B)Can we do all the things we want without cutting corners, can we deliver the "Bethesda" experience...
It's interesting because when Retro first started out they were working on 3 or so games of no real specialty. Then Nintendo told them to stop all production, consolidate, and makes MPrime. Nintendo most likely didn't want to force Retro into doing something this turn around, to keep their relationship healthy.
A part of me wishes they made Metroid or a new IP, and the other part respects their decision and is glad DK is getting love near the beginning of the console....
Graphics are easy to sell, a controller/tablet hybrid on a console isn't. Not to blast PS4 on its power (it brings quite a bit to the market), but people isntantly pick up on graphics and a reliable control system. Graphics and power dominate the discussion of video games so often it's hard to ignore it.
Wii tried to shake-up the discussion though the appearance of tons of shovelware only really Nintendo and a few devs benefitting from it turned others sour. I feel l...
It's funny, because if the WiiU had the same power as X1 I'm sure devs would be climbing all over it. No one wants to bet against graphics, and the poor marketing of the WiiU sure didn't help with its appeal
Why the hate on Wolf? If you ever go from Wolf to Fox you realize how much different they play, The only ability directly copied was the reflector, everything else looks and feels different. He's nowhere near the clone that other guy is *cough*Falco*cough*.
Imo all direct clones should be removed. Ganondorf should stay because while similar he got distinct changes to distance himself from C.Falcon. Remove Falco or at least put in the effort of Wolf because the difference...
But I thought we didn't care for Mewtwo?
Ssssshh, it's still sleeping
Minecraft on WiiU would feel so perfect, it's all there on the gamepad.
Too bad the politics behind it are too complicated atm (what with MS exclusive deal on consoles and everything)
While not "apocalypse" Bioshock did a great job of making you felt trapped and alone and against all odds. Literally caught in a madhouse where you used and did everything to survive.
Same for Metroid Prime 1 and 2, it was the planet's own apocalypse where it was one woman against the world. You learned of the planet's sade fate and a reminder it's just one planet out of infinite.
I recently picked up Fallout 3 and the more I play it the...
The whole point is instead of paying $60 for a 20 hour game you can get a 10 hour game for $10. If you're a game like Castle Crashers you get a hundred hours for $15. Indie games can be very innovative or unique and sell well below the cost of mainstream games
Quite frankly it's easier to put out good multiplayer than singleplayer in a shooter. Stories require dialogue, meaningful characters, and plot. Multiplayer is all about having the most fun possible again and again
The gaming environment is very encouraging of multiplayer. Multiplayer can last a year where mediocore stories last about a week. Respawn could've risked adding a singleplayer that was forgettable, taking time away from making the multiplayer better. It...
The Wii advertising was outstanding, the whole "Wii would like to play" hit you with a constant barrage of family's having fun, doing things no other console could, something everyone could understand from a single glance.
Then with the WiiU they just threw it out there and said "Go on, sell yourself". Also i don't feel like Nintendo is releasing games that show off the unique apects of the WiiU, most are just games with a map or off-screen uses
Don't care for Kinect so yes, $100 means alot
Nintendo is in a hard place with consumers like you (not accusatory, just my observation). Nintendo isn't the company to create TitanFall or MGS5, X and Bayonetta 2 are the closest you'll get to "hardcore" franchises atm. Companies like EA and Activision are the one's to bring such titles to the WiiU, and they won't do that until they see a sizeable WiiU base.
So basically Nintendo has to make games they know will sell to the general consumer base, g...
It's still $100 more than the superior gaming machine, PS4
Does MS really believe many people want to spend an extra $100 for Kinect? I could care less for Kinect so it's still PS4 for me ($100 is kind of a deal breaker)
And just because 20 million or so bought Kinect for 360 doesn't mean that same number will go for X1, at least anytime soon. Releasing a Kinectless SKU makes the most sense, I know they're trying to push Kinectivity, but I'm just not buying it (though others will)
$400 is a great deal...
Because you can take a picture of your achievment with your phone and post it to your Facebook with a little caption "Look what I did". Is it a cool feature? Yes, but it's not something the majority of people on your facebook friend's list will care about, not does it really need to be pushed for your console
This is where a dedicated "site" like Miiverse comes in. You have millions of players all looking for gaming related stuff, everyone on Miive...
