According to vgchartz this game sold 1.7 milion units. psp is usually undertracked and they don't track downloads, so it could be in the 2 milion mark.
This game is easily in the top 10 both in quality terms, brand power, marketing push, and good reviews among all psp games titles ever.
5 milion downloads obviously doesn't equate to 5 milion...

Sony are talking about potential. They have made test panels for sure and already know some people loves it. This is why there is a push.
The verdict is that gamers buy additional content, thus companies create and charge for it.
When you buy a car, you know the standard equipment and the price. You know the cost of the extras. Take it or leave it. The same logic should be applied to games.
It takes 5 mn to make a decent track. Easy as hell. But tools are really powerful, so if you want to make a GREAT track, you are able to do so. Obviously you'll need to put much more effort in it. Same thing applies to mods and car mods.
Gameplaywise, maybe it's me, but i don't find the game easy at all. Makes for a nice challenge. Online experience is superb too.

why any applehead would even need to play a ps3 or 360 game when apple already has 20.000 apps on their store? plus ps3 is black and 360 has an horrendous design. they dont deserve a place in a shiny white apple rig!

I don't really think more resolution is the way of the future. If you have watched 1080p blurays on big screens you know it is already an optimal experience. Mass market will never have 100'' tv sets because there is no space on the houses for them, so mass market will see the marginal quality improvement as useless.
Think on a different level, it's the same of what happened with mp3. You can have better compression, better algorithms, better quality with other formats...
Wireless connection can slow down trophy comparison.
Also it is slower if there are lots of trophies to show.
But anyway, if your general online experience is correct, then 30 mins for comparing is a completely different problem.
Do you keep always your ps3 on standby? If it's the case maybe a simple power off / power on could do the trick.

It can't be honest, MGSPW sure isnt a good game, Konami are advertising just to get a better score, Famitsu gives a good score because they'll get more royalties, PSP is dead, only MGS Rising will shine with a better version on 360

Just to make it clear for every non-psp user or every psp user non aware: you can pause (suspend) any game, any time on psp.
Recovery from suspension mode takes in vast majority of games less than 3 seconds, few exceptions worst case might be 15 seconds. It's the most important utility in every handheld / portable system, and it's very needed for every game, not just mgs cutscenes.
