Exactly what they did was half assed. The cost/distribution of physical disc was still there. Physical disc were just becoming digital copies to limit customer control, the used market and reduce piracy with the 24 hr checks.

I disagree yes the future is probably fully digital but the Xbox one pre 180 wasn't that it was just about control and nothing else. If they wanted a fully digital console then they would have not needed the disc format which they where using to convert into digital copies even though digital copies of all retail games will be available day one. I agree because MS strategy per 180 was still using physical copies for distribution then turning them into digital copies even though these same games will be available digitally from the Xbox live store day one so to me that was all about controlling the used game market. If they wanted a truly digital console then physical disc copies wouldn't be needed.
I still prefer physical over digital anyday because I have a stronger sense of ownership and new game smell :p.
That makes the report of them marketing the Xbox one to small business as a business expense more true but I still don't think it's a valid business expense because they will need to pay for Xbox live to access the features they need and sacrifice probability and the x86 app ecosystem. So it will still be better for a business to buy a laptop IMO.

You're not getting the picture here. Yes Windows RT is a fail but it has a lot of apps already developed in it's ecosystem compared to Sony's were apps have to be developed from the ground up vs a simple update being required for already developed apps to work on the Xbox one.
As much as I don't like MS I have to say Windows 8 is not that bad and you can easily use it without touching or seeing the metro interface.

Well that break from the games industry don't take long. Here's hoping it's good since he was the designer behind Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal and Gow. But Gow will never be same again without the original team which have mostly left Epic.
The drm was just a way to control the used game market and limit ownership if you look at it deeper because all games where going to be available digitally day one anyways so why did physical discs need to become digital copies if they were already available in a digital format?
They have always had IMO but the problem is cod is a very easy and forgiving game compared to battlefield and some people are unwilling to try battlefield because of this or they are unwilling to try something new because their circle of friends all buy cod each year.I don't think BF with surpass BF anything soon but it will always be the better game in the end.
If true then Windows RT is about to get a massive boost it needs and Xbox one is about to become the true jack of all trades like MS wanted. They were smart to use the Windows 8 kernel and core. The Apps marketplace for Xbox one will be huge. Well done to MS for this :).
The fact you can play one game while waiting for other one to find matches is pretty awesome.... No lobbies is a big win ahh how I hate lobby systems. That is a next-gen experience right there.
Now let's see what Sony can bring to the table even though it will probably not be in the same league as what Microsoft are offering. This is one section I fell Microsoft will always offer the better solution.

Excatly this article makes no sense then are using a more powerful cpu that is unlocked and from a different platform, cloclk speeds that don't even match the ones on either consoles. Since we don't know the final specs are you supposed to do a fair comparison especially when you are going parts that are more powerful then the consoles already. It makes no sense.
