People see guns and a cover system and immediately think Gears.
Based on the Vanquish demo the only thing it shares with gears is it's a 3rd person shooter.
Yeah I'm not sure it's worth the full price myself mate, hence why it won't be a day 1 buy for me.
Looks a good game based off the demo, just not a full $60 game for me.
I still do want to play it though, no doubt there.
I think it's going to be a pretty decent game, the demo was pretty good imo.
I think I'll be picking it up, just not on day 1.

Personally I consider video games to be home entertainment. Or is being entertained by playing games in your home somehow not fall under the definition of Home Entertainment?
The Game is just the start and it only does everything in terms of my entertainment needs in the living room.
I said this in another thread but I really wanted to like this game and give it a chance despite what the media have been saying about it lately.
Having played the demo I'll not be touching the full version of this game. It's not the characters or the story because I actually still think those are quite interesting but the gameplay itself was just so poor and the functionality of the weapons was even worse.

Most level headed people would likely agree with you and I along with others in this discussion who have said more or less the same thing.
I'm not really sold on the sculpture thing tbh but that book would be awesome to have.
I'm not sure at how this is Wii bashing at all. What it says to me is that they are pointing out that the device has amazing precision and nothing more.
Now Kevin Butler with the "pew pew pew" thing, that was clearly a dig at Microsoft because of the way it was done.
This on the other hand is just pointing out how precise actions are with the Move.
People are looking into this one way too much and making way too much of it, Sony...

Wasn't much interested in Halo 3 but Reach looks like I'll enjoy it so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.
It's times like this and when Gears 3 comes out that I'm glad I own a 360 to go along with my PS3 and PC.

Sorry but when did Apple ever give you a choice? They are probably the most closed and restrictive platform of the lot, regardless of which product of theirs you buy.
And what choice do Microsoft give you? Pay or you can't play and if you mod your 360, you're getting your machine banned from LIVE.
Yeah, you're much better off with MS and Apple...

I really really wanted to like this, I've always liked the look of the game and the story behind it seemed very interesting to me.
So I went ahead and grabbed the demo and it's really not very good at all. Like someone else mentioned it isn't even the graphics, it's the gameplay. It just seems very slow and not very responsive at all. The button layout I'm fine with, very easy to get accustomed too but the gameplay just doesn't feel very good at all. ...

The reason I say that is I'd love to see something on the PS3 that surpasses what Uncharted 3 is going to achieve. I don't think anyone would be against that!

I have a question though, what game won GOTY in 2007? Must have been a good game to beat out Drake's Fortune, because it was amazing also.
If it's being announced this year it'll likely be for the VGA's, not the kind of game that would benefit most from a TGS announcement.
I do so hope it's Uncharted 3 though...UC3 for around this time next year would just be awesome...it and Twisted Metal next fall would just be an amazing way to finish out the year.
Gears 1 wasn't a 360 exclusive.
So set up a "Multiplat Of The Year" award then.
If a console exclusive is better than everything else out there then it deserves that recognition and should not be excluded and thus punished for being exclusive.
