With hd-dvd players requiring a net connection and most blu-ray ones connected up, the cracking/protection game is going to be a moving target. They don't have to make it 100% foolproof. They just have to make it more annoying to bother with than the cost of the media is.
You hit the nail on the head. SACD and DVD-A are the solution, not vinyl. Really though this argument reminds me of the vodka versus whiskey argument. Do you want pure and clean or messy with character.
LoL! You've lived up to your name on here. Bubbles :)
Here's an idea, stop posting blog posts as news.
jeeez, every best buy is sold out of this around me. I was going to go pick one up after reading this :(
Pay us to NOT make our product. What a racket that would be. Seriously a company should listen to this :)
5 dollars of every widgit A sold could be a bribe to not make widgit-B.
Where do I sign up for that. Zero costs, pure profit.
Gimme a 12 disc changer of blu-ray discs filled with .ogg files in my car and I'd be set for life I think lol.
We all are struggling with what we are paid versus the revenue we bring in. When CEO's are making 262 times the average worker's annual pay there is a real problem.

Without us, everything stops. Something is seriously broken here.
Manhunt 2 ... or Monty Python... You decide.
We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked.
We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.
The directors of the firm hired to continue the credits after the other people had been sacked, wish it to be known that they have just been sacked. The credits have been completed in an en...
My roomates brother in college was a fairly big named proffesional wrestler. She got me into FirePro way back. We used to play for HOURS. I'm definately picking this up to play on my PS3. Let's hear it for backwards compatibility for early adopters ;)
In other news, Twinkies, the brightly yellow, cute little cake with fluffy fluffy filling is set to dominate the food market in December! While some more "hard core" dieticians doubt the effectiveness of actually eating a Twinkie, fans of the snack have always maintained its not what the snack can do for you, its how much fun it is to actually eat the product.
Sadly after purchasing and eating a Twinkie, while it is fun at first, quickly looses its repeat appeal and ...
After I figured out that the first campaign unlimited in time, and as long as you didn't take the city you were supposed to take you could conquest all of Normandy, I started to really like this game.
Does anyone know if in the multiplayer you can have several different commanders on either side? It was very difficult for one person to set up archers on a ridge, put the calvary in place, and then charge with the infantry and time it all since you're so directly involved in the...
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to successfully install this game without tripping the DRM...
I'm sorry, your machine will now self destrucet in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
Totally agree, bit dramatic ;)
The graphics look better than Rainbow Six, and the storyline is supposed to be unique and immersive. I don't wan't to sound Wii-like, but as long as the graphics are decent the story can carry it for me.
The value will self correct when the hysteria is over.
And don't forget the link between police and other authority figures with snotty holier than thou attitudes and the level of cynicism among the public.
"To Patronize and Annoy"
As much as I'd like to say that Universal will regret its HDDVD support, I just don't think it matters right now to them financially. Someone is subsidizing them no doubt, but the total hd market is small enough they can afford to experiment for the next 6-12 months. Any longer than that and that better be one hell of a deep pocketed subsidizer ;)
I've never heard the sound on an HDDVD movie, but the PCM Uncompressed on a BD is just amazing! I never thought 7.1 surround would be a big deal but it really helps create that "3d" sound envelope. It freaks my dog out lol.
It hurts to go back and watch a normal dvd now. 5.1 Audio is still ok, but the banding in the video just drives me nuts.
I for one look forward to the new gaming series "Circlet" staring "Expert Commander"! :D
