I wouldn't need a phone to connect to the internet through :) Unfortunately as a Linux Admin I have to be able to jump online at any time anywhere at a moments notice. I also don't want to pay for a second mobile account to have a card for the laptop... sooo.
I'd sell my old school PSP at a premium on Ebay and buy one of the new ones pretty quickly :) I don't mind sticking with official games, especially since I can get all the PSone games from the PS Store now. Cha-Ching $.
Until it can do 3G so that I can network with my laptop on it, its useless to me. Even though I really really like the way it looks.
I use the fiber optic digital audio port in the back of the PS3 that runs straight to my receiver. No need to pull it off HDMI. That just goes up to the TV. Someone hasn't done their homework.
The Pet Rock fad swept the nation by storm for six months in the mid 70's (no I don't remember this I wasn't born :P). Invented by an ad executive he took rocks, painted faces on them, and sold them in boxes with air holes so they could "breathe". Before it was over he was a millionaire.
1. Take item noone would buy (a rock or a low res low end console)
2. Package it in a cute way with a few cheap twists
3. Profit! (in the short term)
It was hell at times. We use to get together and draw up plans depicting the school as a prison and the teachers as guards. My friends and I would plan our "escape" and such. Now days that would get us expelled. I'm so glad I got out before it got REALLY crazy. I hate the police state we're living in. This is not the USA.
I have a PS3, BluRay will always play correctly on the PS3 simply because its so easily upgradeable. Even if they decide to change the encryption keys for all players I will never notice because it will be wrapped into a firmware update for the PS3. Reason #1,024,301 that I use my PS3 as my game/media center.
That being said, if something wasn't playing well on the XBOX360 AND it turns out its something that a firmware update could have fixed, they need to stay on top of thin...
I'm glad Linux will see some mainstream use. I'm even glad its Ubuntu as it appears to be the "easiest" distro for beginners. Maybe this will lead to distros that are in my opinion better like Fedora or even Gentoo. I am an avid supporter and contributer to Fedora but I would never recommend a first time user of Linux to go straight to it for several reasons.
Reading that source material through the automated translation engine is nearly impossible.
I am praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
I seriously doubt this is an answer, but I also doubt it can hurt anything.
Shalom.
Working in the IT industry, the hardest part for me isn't the work, its dealing with individuals who have very little in the way of communication and people skills. There is the classic problem of having the boys club treat you seriously, on top of the fact that the boys club in IT tends to be introverted and slightly intimidated by women. I'm a pretty extreme extrovert and like to discuss things with a team as we hash out ideas. What I tend to find are people who really just want to hear ...
One is the huge counterfeit card market this will most likely spawn. Even worse than with Magic the Gathering because everyone will want to see the graphics.
Two is the huge buy in cost to play this game. Collectible trading card games are traditionally big budget busters already. Add in that need to buy the PS3 and PSeye plus the video game and your looking at easily a grand just to play your first game.
I'd love to play this with my friends when it comes out but I'm...
I guess I'm just not "Truck Driving" material. Not to compare the two, but I don't get "Deer Hunter" games either. I guess both of these fall into the category of sim life and neither are a particular life I'd like to sim :)
I wonder when they'll make somethign like "Master Calc" the accountant simulator. Or maybe "Maid of Honor" the house cleaning game. Dare I dream for "Toll Booth Mania" where you get to be a ticket taker for hour...
Oh good, finally I'll be able to play MS online. I really tried, but the waiting times and not being able to see the status of rooms drove me batty. Wish it could be more like Resistance's online experience. I wish Resistance could be more like SOCOM 2 was :)
Yeah there's no reflections anywhere on any shiny surface. Its really noticeable in the special mission section when you fight with the blonde woman. Thats a very shiny marble floor, there should be something reflected.
Take a look at the cliff face by the entrance to the Ninja School. I think its especially noticeable there that the underlying texture to the ground is just really low res and odd.
Like I said, this game is great, I'll end up getting it. Just ...
The textures on the characters are great. The lighting and shadows are great. There are still several flaws to the graphics that bugged the heck out of me. One is there is no reflection in the shiny floor in the Ninja School. It looks like they used a translucent floor to make it appear shiny and there is no reflection at all in it. However your shadow does some really weird stuff on it heh.
The other is whats up with all the ferns? Even in the "underground" cav...
I'm not so sure I WANT people hearing EVERYTHING in my house. Especially when I'm comparing the squad leader's IQ and mapping to a turnip.
But I love the idea of it mapping movements into games. Better functionally than the Wii and no need for any controller at all. Imagine buying a replica lightsaber and actually using it in the game for something. Not saying its going to happen, but I can dream right?
LOL! No. I did play that old truckdriving game on the PC forever ago. I never saw the point of it. It took hours to drive from one place to another. The greatest thrill was when a bug hit the windshield or it rained and you got to use the wipers.
I find other women gamers on everything. Plenty of us on Resistance Fall of Man, and we were some of the best at SOCOM 2. BamaGirl if you see this CALL ME ! :)
I just think its amusing that guys tend to think that...
If this is some of what they have been hinting at in articles like this:

Then this could be very very interesting.
