Can't wait for this. It's a revolutionary chip if this news is true.
And just in time for me starting art school. Extra student loan money towards GT300 FTW.
@Mikerra17:
Lol, Then why is Intel scared of Nvidia, and why is Intel trying to create a GPU?
Because Intel knows GPU's work on a much better principal for computing. GPU's have shown to be much MUCH better at many different tasks that used to be handled by CPU's. Intel doesn't want to miss the bandwagon and be left in the dust if the industry does move to a mainly GPU computing one. Which all signs show it is moving towards.
GPU's were already very awesome fo...
No it shouldn't. Because what your talking about is 4 GPU's in 2xDual SLI. The GT300 will be damn powerful, but not 4 GPU's powerful lol. As the article said it should be around double. Although it will probably get close to the performance of your setup, because SLI/Crossfire has bottlenecks that don't actually result in 2x the performance with 2 chips. Unlike a 2x more powerful chip.
Sigh, this is so stupid.
Piratebay doesn't "link to torrents". Piratebay host's torrents, and is a tracker. A tracker is something that facilitates the transfer of the actual torrent data, it keeps track of all the users downloading/uploading so that you can connect to them to get the file.
Google is merely a search engine that can find sites like Piratebay.
I'm not against PirateBay though, I'm a prominent pirate lol. But this comparison is hardly the ...
Ah.. that's ok then lol.
There's a difference between living on the edge, and having a death trap sitting a few feet from you lol.
Not saying people shouldn't try things like this. But I wouldn't advise using this constantly lol. It's one of those things that you do, and then you pack it away or just have it as decoration. Maybe switching it on once in a while for friends and such.
This seems pretty dangerous to me. If the platter cracks while it's spinning, the shards are going fast enough to kill you. And being open to oxidization and other environmental factos makes this more likely of happening.
I'm sick of these idiotic religious people who think they have the right to impose their beliefs on other people.
Here's a good question to people like them. What makes your views more important than others? The fact is, they aren't. Because all they are is personal beliefs.

OMG, that first image looks so Blade Runner like.
2010-2020 are going to be glorious years. All areas of Scientific research are on the cusp of major breakthroughs that will forever revolutionize how we live.
Blue-ray will be short lived because of exponential technology growth. The better technology grows, the faster it advances up until nearing it's finishing point where it starts to slow down as the feats we attempt become incredibly mind boggling.
Blue-ray just can't store enough information for the vastly increasing ...
Good choice just going with 920 and overclocking. But you really should have focused your money on a top of the line GPU like the 4870 or Nvidia GTX 260 or 280. And then seen what you had left for the CPU.
@FantasyStar: Depends, what was your CPU before? That Quad might have a new instruction or 2 that your old one didn't. Which games can use to increase performance.
For example, my Pentium 4 HT only has (MMX, SSE, SSE2) instruction sets.
While a Core 2 has (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1).
@velaxun: Oh yes, I am soooo dense for thinking that the USA doesn't completely control all changes in the world. Get real.
The internet in places like Japan isn't going to make their service worse and make it cost more. Doesn't matter what other countries do. There's no reason for them to follow in foot when a good system is already in place.
Time Warner is just one of a few idiots who are to greedy. There actions are hardly going to gain any ground among the world IS...
The thing is, it's actually true. The GPU is the main thing you should be focusing on in your gaming computer. Most of a Quad-Core CPU's power is never used by almost every game game.
No thanks. I'd rather not be a sheep.
I take joy in building and upgrading my computer. Plus it's used not just for gaming, but almost everything else in my life. PC's aren't just used for gaming like consoles are.
Plus we can play games in MUCH higher resolutions, with much better details. I don't want to wait 6-8 years for a new console, just to play what PC's could play 2-3 years before.
Sure, it can be a bit more money, but it's damn well worth it lol. But it...
Well one should not even bother with the i7 950 and 975 anyway. 950 is the exact same chip as the 920. And the 975 has a few minor tweaks.
If someone does decide to go for an i7, get an 920 and overclock that biatch.
Not really. That's only really true for the USA, and maybe a few other countries where greedy corporations have to much power and no human decency.
Other places that already provide 100mbps internet are far past being able to break. They provide more than enough speed people will need for quite some time.
It uses the ION platform, which is a very compact little design. Pretty sure it can't really even be customized at all. The GPU is a mobile version, so it's integrated. I think RAM is integrated to. The CPU might be removeable though.
The GPU picks up most of the slack. Plus that Atom has HyperThreading like the Pentium 4 had and the Core i7 has. Further increasing performance of the CPU. It's not to bad of a CPU. But of course your going to have to play games at 1024x768 most of the time if they are detailed games. And on low/med settings.
It's revolutionary in respect to GPU design.
And your comparison of it to a mere X2 setup is ridiculous. This isn't anything like 2 GPU's performing side by side. This is a big advancement in GPU architecture, bringing it so much closer to being the prominent processor in a computer instead of a CPU.
The point of promising MIMD is that it gives developers a much more powerful vessel than the CPU to process with. It wouldn't take some huge learning or extra work for d...
