Talking walled?
If you're trying to make that tired joke about "taken wallet", this expansion is actually worth it.
People shouldn't be surprised Bungie made a good thing.
Go to the Destiny subreddit (one of the most populated on all of Reddit)
They have a place called r/fireteams where you can find people to play with, you'll find a lot of good players there who are willing to help.
There's also another area called DestinySherpas where you can get help with raids.
I definitely recommend checking those out. They're on the sidebar from the main page: 3845d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment
For PVP, easily Hawkmoon. Chance to 2 shot makes it top tier.
It's the most played game on consoles, they'd be stupid not to cover it. That's their job.
Guess what...when Halo, Black Ops 3 and Battlefront come out, Destiny is still going to be the most played game on consoles.
So, uh, get used to it?
If you owned it you'd know there's a lot more than "new weapons and a raid".
Also, that raid is the best content to date.
"hunter is boring imo.. although i can see exactly how it would be the best for end-game.. just not the most entertaining while messing around"
Really? It's definitely the most entertaining for me. Using a sword + shadestep is the most badass thing in the game.
Shadestep is just an awesome movement mechanic overall.

"You'll be meleed to hell"
You shouldn't be in melee range with stormtrance.
I don't know why anyone would continue to play Destiny without TTK to be honest.
That said, the update made PVP great again. So I'm pretty damn happy with it.
Title is clickbaity though, definitely.
It wasn't "unfinished" it just wasn't very good.
It's not like they released a broken game like AC Unity. It worked remarkably well and had very few bugs.
Bungie seems to have figured it out how they want this game to go now.
Have you even played the expansion? Everyone knows the vanilla game was lacking, that's not what the game is anymore though.
The new raid is the best co-op experience I've ever had. Incredibly fun with friends.
I'm not sure why anyone is surprised Bungie made something great.
Destiny has 0 microtransactions.
The issue isn't the business model, it's that the base game was lacking and the first 2 DLCs weren't great. If they had been nobody would have cared about cost. The Taken King is well worth the $40 I spent on it.
As long as the content is good going forward having this sort of "content drip" where something drops every 4 months or so is important for a game who's player base is so rabid.
The lore is actually really good stuff, the story about Dredgen Yor (Thorn) and Shin Malphur (The Last Word) is awesome. It's like something out of a western...a space western.
Loved the different mission structures in the campaign this time. Having Cayde (or one of the others) and Ghost narrate stuff as you play is the best way to get story across in this type of game, with occasional cutscenes. They found a good balance.

Why is anyone surprised Bungie made something really good?
The surprising part was how lackluster it was at launch.
Who cares about the old content though? That was all bad material, nobody could have saved it.
He sounds great in the new stuff.
It's possible to defend this game while also recognizing it's flaws.
Bungie basically admitted they messed up year one. Nobody knows exactly what happened but some shit went down in the year or two leading up to launch that affected the Vanilla title a lot. Doesn't mean the series will stay that way.
Listen to any interview with Luke Smith and he says stuff like "I hate that Destiny isn't a better game, I want to make it a better game&q...
Yeah definitely. The new campaign missions are Halo-y. The new subclasses are incredibly fun and there's a ton of stuff to do after the main story campaign (including more structured missions, called 'quest missions').
Most fun I've had in a co-op game over the last few days and the raid isn't even out yet.
Bungie is definitely back with this.
$40 isn't an "insane price" for the expansion, it's easily worth that. It's worth more than I paid for the base game, really.
Bungie messed up year one, they admitted it multiple times during the promotion for Taken King (Luke Smith, specifically).
The expansion is fantastic though, really. I don't know why anyone would still regularly play this game without any of the DLCs. If you like it enough, the cost isn't high.
One of the upcoming DLCs definitely has a Cabal focus, based on the leaked docs, so the last page makes sense. They're the only ones who haven't had their own focused storyline, so I expect we'll see more of them soon.
I'm actually looking forward to the next couple DLCs before Destiny 2, given the standard they've set with The Taken King.
Of course Fillion is MVP.
Also, Nolan North's Ghost is awesome in the new content.
Nice to see people complain about this business model after complaining about their business model before.
So long as everything really is just cosmetic this seems like a far better option than before. New content won't be gated behind a "paywall".
