I've put like 30 hours into Destiny, which isn't even a lot compared to others.
DLC or not, I certainly feel like I've had my money's worth from the game.
I don't accept this being the last one!
Even if it's the end of Drake's story...give us a prequel where we're controlling a young Sully.
Part of the PS4 architecture allows the GPU to compute CPU tasks. I don't believe any of the launch games or games released shortly after used this.
This is why we'll see games like Uncharted 4 which are in a different stratosphere than earlier titles. (Well that and...dem Naughty Dogs)
Mute abusive players?
How do you hear anyone?!
LBP 3 is coming out this year, Uncharted 4 is slated for a late 2015 release.
It'll be competing with Bloodborne, Tomb Raider, etc.
There's a lot of good games coming out around this time, but damn do I love Sleeping Dogs. Really, really enjoyable single player campaign.
Great characters, great music. Ninja Tune Radio FTW.
It's been said thousands of times...but this game didn't cost $500 million. Activision has budgeted that for the next 10 years of Destiny.
Yeah...it's definitely better than the backlash would have you believe.
2 weeks later and I'm on to my 3rd class. It's enjoyable enough to play through a few times.
I don't know...I feel like certain things would lose their "oomph" in 3rd person. Particularly the melee.
I'm a big fan of first person reload animations too and Destiny has some badass ones.
I'm still confused as to what people expected from Destiny. For it to revolutionize gaming? It was originally conceived as a last gen title...
I'm personally having a blast with it (and I wasn't even a huge Halo fan, outside of CE).
I think Destiny 2 will be a much "bigger" game, as they'll be focused solely on the current gen hardware. Destiny is what...13 gigs on your HD?
The best part of the game is how solid it's FPS combat feels...
So no.
I do enjoy the 3rd person vehicles though.
This is pretty much where I'm at with the game.
I understand it's not everything everyone wanted it to be and that it didn't revolutionize gaming...but it's just flat out enjoyable to play.
Bungie really nailed the core gameplay mechanics and that will keep people coming back for more.
Doesn't hurt that the production values are through the roof as well.
TR:DR was smooth as hell on PS4. I don't care if the FPS wasn't locked it played beautifully.
I was referring more to the overall "feel" of the combat.
The weapons seem to have a weight to them and they're just enjoyable to use. Popping off headshots with the handcannon is beautiful.
It's a testament to how great the combat feels that, despite all the complaints, you haven't heard people ranting about it being 30fps instead of 60.
Agreed on your other points though.
Man...I don't understand how anyone could find the core gameplay "boring". It's some of the most satisfying FPS combat I've experienced.
The campaign/story is certainly lacking, but the gameplay has kept me entertained enough to want to start up another class after I leveled my first to 22.
I've enjoyed the core combat mechanics of Destiny far more than any Halo game though...
(Note: I did not say it's a better game)
The main reason I'm still playing is that it's so enjoyable to move around the maps and the combat feels so good. It's not like I'm sticking around for the stellar story.
I did it the same way and enjoyed the evil play through much more.
The powers are a bit more fun.
"The Last of Us" is an existing, previously announced IP. The sequel is the same IP.
In this case unannounced does mean new. They mentioned it's similar in scale to Uncharted though.
Based on everything I've played so far 8.5 seems about right.
Damn...that Drake model is making the dude in my display pic look pretty damn obsolete!
