I guess I’m mellowing in my old age (",)
Xbox has rekindled my love for Minecraft, but CastleMiner Z (80MS Points on XBLIG) represents the best value for money. That game is so addictive.
Hopefully, Mojang will eventually port the Xperia version across to the PS Vita and give us the opportunity to experience Minecraft PE the way it was meant to be played.
Why not allow gamers to use their XBL avatars, like Castleminer.
Very touching blog.
We live in a fascinating digital age that enriches all our lives and allows everyone the opportunity to realise their potential. Technology is helping to break down barriers and social stigmas, but I agree that it's perhaps not celebrated/utilised as much as it should be.
Props to you and the little guy.
I'm planning on building a rig in the near future. What excites me most is being able to connect persistent world servers for Minecraft and DayZ. You can't get that kind of experience on a console.
I would encourage anyone currently playing Minecraft 360 to try out Castleminer on XBLA and its fantastic zombie survival successor, Castleminer Z (my personal favourite).
Both title are currently 80MS points ($1) each and represent superb value for money. They also allow players to use their Xbox Live avatars, which make this Minecraft skin update seem somewhat redundant.
Please don’t misunderstand me; I love MC. But until it catches up significantly wi...
I've had a love/hate affair with the closed beta, but as states above, this game has a lot of potential. Anyone who wants to see the cross platform capabilities of this game should YouTube "Dust 514 Orbital Bombardment". That alone is worth the price of admission. Which is free.
That rug would really tie a room together. Man.
Whilst I am dismayed at the inevitable side effects of the kickstarter revolution, every now and then an idea comes along that has instant appeal. This is one of those. I'll be making my first pledge. Imagine two of these devices on your index fingers with analog sticks. You could play full on FPS titles on your your iPad.
I'm not really blown away by the tech in its current form.
However I do think a second screen would be great for gaming. Imaging being able to use your iTouch/iPad/PS Vita to organise your inventory or equip weapons in an RPG, or access in-game content independent of your TV.
The touch interface would make a lot of interactions much smoother than a standard controller, especially in online play, where you cannot pause the action. I'm hoping the D...
Standout title of its era, along with it's sequel Jet Set Willy.
Really enjoying the LBP beta. Hoping the west will get another Monster Hunter instalment this generation. Still desperate to see how the Dust 514 NeoCom app will integrate with PS3.
I really enjoyed Shattered Memories on the Wii; some quite innovative use of the motion controller as your torch / cell phone. Plus, there was no combat; it was all evasion, which helped rack up the tension.
I think the most remote protagonist I've ever encountered is Master Chief. Petty Officer John-117 was develoepd so well in The Fall of Reach (the prequel novel) but when I eventually got hands on with Halo, he seemed so far removed from the character I'd built in my mind.
I have complete faith in CCP to get the balance right.
Good stuff; thanks for sharing.
I always find the music in RPGs quite tedious after a while; their very nature means that through the longevity of the campaign you'll hear the same riffs over and over - that's when it's time to mute and enjoy the ambient FX.
The combat, though very engaging, also highlights the issue of characters constantly shouting over each other (this happened in Xenoblade Chronicle as well).
Still a so...
There’s nothing new under the sun; very few creative endeavours can claim to be totally original. Subconsciously everyone draws upon previous influences and exposures to past works, which makes it very easy for similarities to be found by those looking for them.
How often have you described a book/game/film to someone by referencing something else in the same genre, using the phrase, “It’s kinda like XXX crossed with YYY.”
Using terms like ‘copied’ or ‘st...
They should call it Alan Woke.
Exactly; at first I thought it was innovative, but it's essentially MOVE for the 3DS.
Still looks very promising.
In the days before I had Netflix and LoveFilm, I used to carry my PSP with me and remotely access the NAS drive connected to my PS3.
So with a good wifi connection I could stream all my content wherever I was in the world.
