yay, more Amnesia recognition. i can't wait for that new game supposedly coming out this fall, it's going to be similar in atmosphere and scares to Amnesia from what i've seen. can't remember the name of it.
anyways, this is horror done right. actual horror, actual atmosphere, the feeling of trying to survive against enemies you have no hope of killing.
stuff like Dead Space and FEAR? please. they can startle you at times, sure, and even creep...
they turned into action games and games that think horror means monsters jumping out with loud noises = horror.

i'm not a handheld gamer at all (haven't owned one since the Gameboy Color), but the Vita is really growing on me. i just don't wanna splurge and have it end up being an impulse buy. especially when i can play games that are as good or much better on my TV or PC screen instead of a 5" screen, or however big Vita's screen is.
but still.....i kinda want one. lol.
i'm playing through Dark Souls for a third time now, this time i'm a sorcerer. i just solo'd Orstein and Smough yesterday with the ring that halves your HP for extra castings. so basically, i couldn't get hit. lol.

i'm not frustrated or addicted. i just played for a while and enjoyed it until i realized i was playing Oblivion all over again and stopped. once i started seeing it for what it was, i started seeing all the flaws, all the archaic design choices and mechanics, and the repetition in the gameplay.
lol @ SSFIV. this guy sounds like a fighting game noob, considering SF2 and 3rd Strike are considered the two best fighting games ever made, while SSFIV is considered the dumbed down version.
The Witcher 2 is still going to look amazing on the 360, but yeah....you'd have to be blind to not be able to spot the difference in the quality.
completely agree. Sigma was a nice port, but Rachel was absolutely useless. a port of Black would have been awesome.
how does it control better on the 360 when you can use a 360 controller on PC and map the buttons? like i did, and it controlled perfectly. and of course the graphics and framerate are going to be better on the PC version. so what is this guy talking about? what makes it play best?

i do like the focus on a better story this time around, though. the gameplay clearly won't be as good as the previous two Ninja Gaiden games, but at least the story might be. lol. not that story matters in a Ninja Gaiden game, but as a lifelong fan of the franchise, i gotta focus on the positives!
i think horror games in general need to return to their roots. startling people will sudden images and loud noises isn't horror. walking around with an arsenal on your back that can litter an enemy with bullets isn't horror.
horror is about atmosphere, pacing, and genuinely being afraid of your enemies. hence why the survivor part usually goes with horror for good games. it's kinda hard to be truly terrified if you have a lot of powerful weapons and ammo on you.

i wouldn't say the petition was successful until they actually announce it for PC. but it's nice to see gamers taking a stand for something they want.
the only time you hear people complain about XBL fees is from Sony fanboys who don't even use the service. i barely even use my 360 (only for SSFIV online), but still, XBL gold is more than worth it. it's above and beyond PSN and that thing the Wii likes to call an online service.
