That is one of the best things about this game to me. I forget how hard some of the games were when I was a kid. This game reminds me of that about every 10 minutes, hahahahaha. LOVE this game.
This reviewer was probably still sucking his mother tits when 16-bit was king. Its the only way I can explain this review score. He simply has no idea or ability to know how awesome the game is or all the references to games the rest of us played as kids.
Well, I guess the next one will be a watered down action game too then.. :(
Makes my purchase of a GTX680 feel that much better.
They gonna be super pissed when they find out the PC can run it across 3 screens, full TXAA, 16xAF, and in 3D. Probably so pissed they jump off a bridge!
I love this studio. Can't wait to play their new game.
I was using an AMD 5870 for almost 3 years. Never had any trouble. Now I am running a 680GTX and not having any trouble either.
I think it is the best MMO ever. But then again, I get bored with MMOs within a month and I've already quit playing the game... so... yeah. Still think it is the best even though I've already stopped playing it.
Why have I never heard of this game until now?!
This means intel will control the price on what used to be cheap DRAM since it is integrated on the chip. Expect your gaming level CPU to now cost an extra $250 than usual. :(
I just bought a GTX 680 last friday after running a 5870 since the very first day it was in stock at newegg.com. It has been able to play every game at max settings @1920*1080 since then. That was 3 years ago. So I'm not sure what you are talking about. Obviously if you bought a low end video card 3 years ago then I understand you need to upgrade just about every year. But if you buy a high end video card you rarely have to upgrade more than once every 2 years.
Does the PC need reviving? Last time I checked PC gaming related profits were at record highs.
I think all of those are realistic expectations but one. That would be the SSD. The price of SSDs are simply too high even at cost and they don't give much of a performance boost when playing a video game other than shorter loading screens. The trade off of faster load times vs. cheaper overall cost + higher gigabyte count on a standard platter HDD will make the SSD out of the question.
RAM would be nice at 8gigs but I am expecting 4 tops, 2-3gigs most likely.
There is no way this game is gonna look like this on the PS3/X360. This has to be slated for next-gen hardware.
Change the name to 'Median Earth Role Playing' and go forward with the MOD.
Yes, there are many truly free to play games. However there are very few that are not pay to win.
Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2 from Valve are very good examples. All in game purchases are cosmetic or audio related. You get no advantage over someone else because you spent your money.
What?! I am in the US. And I can't wait. It will be the first game I will have played on my PS3 since Uncharted 3. (unless the PSN release of FF Tactics counts)
It is just shoddy work and very bad PR for this company. Which is a real shame. I had high hopes for the devs to really blow us away. But they dropped ball.
Oh well. The MOD makers will fix the problems in the long run. I am just gonna wait to pick this game up on a steam sale a little while down the road once the bugs have been worked out.
My procrastination has paid off. I will buy this on PC. I remember liking the demo and then just forgetting about it due to other games/life in general.
You say that about "maxing" games out over the course of several years. But look at what your alternative is! Sub-HD resolutions on average and 720p at best on the consoles. And that is 720p WITH low resolution textures and more post processing filters turned off.
The average PC game running at 720p looks better because you are getting that at a NATIVE 720p rez, and you can turn up all the eye candy and bells and whistles more than likely.
So even...
