lol, so a bunch of infected humans are running around attacking normal humans and they are not zombies? lol. THEY ARE STILL ZOMBIES!
Just a lot cooler zombies than what we typically get.
There are a lot of games that are not pay to win. Most games are just cosmetic or XP boosters at the most.
Also- if you want a Diablo game (that is BETTER than diablo) try Path of Exile. If you like Moba games try dota 2.
Dota 2 did it for me. I am hoping that the new command and conquer will make me just as happy.
If it gets viewers and in turn gets advertisers why not?
^^ Don't forget stereoscopic 3D and high rez textures.
Damn. I was hoping it was an APU paired in crossfire with a discrete GPU. faaacckkkkkk.. Still though that is a decent GPU. Outdated by two generations already but more powerful than the typical APU GPU.
Did I miss something? I was under the impression that the PS4 was using an 8 core APU but I also thought it was going to be paired with a discrete video card? Not that the weak-ass APU was going to be the only "GPU". Or am I missing something?
I haven't had driver problems in about 3-4 years myself.
Also- I typically build a high end PC every two years. Not because I have to. But because I am a tech whore. My wife can play all games maxed out on my old machine that was a phenom 965,8gig RAM, and an HD5870. And that machine is over 3 years old. More like 4 years old now.
This site has a lot of weird and backward information when it comes to PC gaming.
I believe those games could have all been running on the PS4. Why? Because even though all of it looked great there was nothing shown that couldn't run on a current gaming PC that was shown. If anything I expect those graphics to get better by release than what was shown.
Killzone looks good. But put that gameplay next to current mid range capable PCs playing BF3 or Crysis 2/3 and you get about the same look.
Given the fact the PS4 is supposed to be a beast of a console I would bet that Killzone will actually look better (yes, better) than what we were shown.
Must be nice MS to have so much money and clout you can use the FBI to bully and prosecute you over releasing info that is declared "secret" by a corporation. If a small business owner had something that was "secret" and got released on the internet do you think they would raid someone else in another country and jail them over it? NOPE! FFS they are acting like this guy is releasing national security secrets.
I think most devs jizzed their pants a little when they were told that it is actually going to be a x86 system with a full 8gigs of RAM. And not just any ram but GDDR5. I can't even buy that for my high end gaming PC. That should be pretty telling of how well Sony learned from their mistakes and how much they mean business this time around.
Another thing that didn't get a lot of praise is the extra silicon they added just to handle the system overlay/XMB and backgrou...
I remember how many bubbles I lost back in the day by stating that Sony's biggest mistake with the PS3 was the CELL and RAM configuration.
Now they basically admitted that it was a mistake and have gone the x86 PC in a box route and everyone is praising them and developers are salivating at the mouth and can't wait to work with it.
Congrats Sony fans!! You've been upgraded to a high end gaming PC!!
With the streaming service most people will be able to play the PS3 games that way. It was alluded to in the conference that way.
I see it as a boon for both MS and Sony that they are going x86.
Easier to develop for, most devs have deep knowledge of the x86 architecture already, and easier to develop multi-plat games because they all share the same basic underlying hardware.
Less R&D+more platforms=greater chance to make more money. This could be a renaissance for gaming as a whole by making the entire current market easier, cheaper, and more accessible to develop for for this fi...
Of course it jumped. They moved to a developer friendly architecture FINALLY. The CELL caused so much trouble (at the start of the console's life) that they knew they couldn't go for such an exotic design again. They went x86 with standard PC parts and an 8gig unified memory setup.
Given the fact they learned their lesson and decided to make a console that is dev friendly is good news for investors because they know the dev teams will be jumping on board in droves th...
Congratulations Sony fans! You've been upgraded from a console to a PC!!!!
Congratulations Playstation fans!! You've been upgraded to a gaming PC!!!
I sincerely mean that as the biggest compliment I've ever given any console to date.
I love this company. But I couldn't help but think that they already have the "HD Remake" of Uncharted waiting for the PS4 so they can sell it all over again like so many other companies. hahahahaha
What I took away from this though- that maybe the next gen will finally bring high rez textures (or "high-er") to consoles. Which will make a HUGE difference in eye candy.
The effects of console-ification..
