The ONLY advantage that the 360 has over the PS3 is the unified memory setup and the fact that the ATi video card is about 1/4 the time faster than the 7800GTX in the PS3.
However, and remember this is coming from a tried and true 360 fanboy, I think the PS3 will (over time) be able to compesate for the slightly slower GPU speed and slightly less available system RAM with the fact that it has FASTER RAM and a hard-drive.
Just watch - the PS3 will catch up.
Even though I prefer my Xbox360 over the PS3 - I have said from the beginning that Microsoft's decision to not include a HDD in all of their consoles would bite them in the ass in the end.
The next big thing that will hurt the 360 is the fact that Microsoft is not allowing the 360 to support Keyboard and Mouse. When Unreal Tournament 2007 comes out, I will be buying it for the PS3 simply because of the support for the Keyboard and Mouse.
You are SOOOOOO wrong!! Daggerfall was the first game that gave you some choice. It was also one of the first FPS RPGs ever as well. (not the first, but one of the better ones)

This is the ONLY game exclusive (aside from LAIR) that is making me want to waste my money on another console. (I am a PC/MS fanboy)
I never did care for the Halo Series, at least not enough to be excited about it like some people, but I can honestly say that the image quality was so low that I would not make any judgements from these screens.
Of course the game is going to look great, the older games were the best looking on the original Xbox - but in those screen shots, I could only tell on some of them which one was which because it said so on the screen.
seriously doubt that is true. The two consoles, both the PS3 AND the Xbox360 are not capable of pulling off any game with decent visual assests of pulling off TRUE native 1080p support.
The truth is in the numbers. It is just not going to happen. If the games looks like a last gen game maybe, but I will tell you right now, nothing like R6V or Oblivion is possible running at 1080p. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
The game is rate capped at 30 FPS. And your system is OVERKILL for the PC version. If it runs slow on your PC, then you need to stop DLing porn on your PC.

But there is NO WAY in hell I am going to play Command and Conquer WITHOUT a keyboard and mouse. It might not be too bad for those that have never played with a keyboard and mouse before- but for those of us that have it is just too DAMNED frustrating to try and play with a controller.

I personally don't care. I have a 360, but more importantly I own a top of the line home built PC, so the PS3 can rot on the shelf for all I care, but it does seem a bit odd that one news feed says one thing, then the next news feed says another.. surely if someone was reporting the FACTS there would only be one story.

Got lucky I guess. My 360, and everyone else's 360 has never scratched a disc once. But we all got ours at launch.
Even though I am more impressed with the 360 right now, I have to say the game looks like total garbage compared to the PC version.
John Carmack said the same thing about the 360 when he found out a minimum of 720p resolution was mandated for all 360 games.
The truth of the matter is that 720p is NOT that much higher of a resolution than 640*480. (in terms of 640*480 compared to 1080i/p)
While you may be able to turn up the effects a little, I prefer to have crisper edges, and not have my gun/character taking up the whole damn screen because the resolution is set to 480i.

The ATI card in the 360 is MORE powerful than the 7800GTX. Plain and simple. The only thing propping the PS3 up is the dedicated memory for the 7800GTX which edges out the 360 slightly in memory bandwidth.
