Yeah right. How many times have these companies been caught spying on you when they say they are not? I don't believe it for a second.
Unless they blow me away at E3 I am planning on only getting a PS4 at this point to compliment my gaming PC. But if they clarify some big questions we all seem to have right now and the answers are acceptable and the games/gameplay is solid enough then I will consider both.

I will say not next gen because we all know the X360 was probably the lead dev platform. Yes I know it is a "new" engine but that really doesn't mean much when it is being held back by old hardware. There will not be enough PS4/X1s in people's hands this year to spend too much time on making the next gen versions what they could be. Instead you will probably get the exact same game but running at a higher resolution and probably using higher rez textures.

While just about anyone will admit that the CoD compared to Crysis 1 that Cyrsis looks better. But this is CoD. A CoD that is also being made for current gen consoles and heavily downgraded because of that fact.

The problem I have with the consoles having so much extra RAM is that the video cards are not capable of actually taking advantage of all of it. The future of consoles is more than just about gaming, yes. But it is the gaming aspect that will get it in front of people's television sets. The better the gaming is=the greater demand for the console.

As much as I would love for it to be real and used effectively I can't help but feel that it is just a gimmick and tech demo right now. I think it would be really awesome to have. But I am not holding my breath it will ever see the light of day.
Aligned and similar in capablities are not the same thing. They both use an 8core AMD CPU/GPU combo. They both have 8gigs of RAM. They both have HDDs. So yes, they are 'aligned'. And even though the PS4 is 0.5x more powerful (on paper) than the X1 I think the difference will start to show sooner rather than later this gen as to which one is more powerful based on architecture design of how the hardware is put together.
