At the above- YES! Lots of devs use PCs with xbox controllers installed to demo the games. I played through most of the second witcher with an xbox controller. And most games, when an xbox controller is hooked up, also show the A,B,X,Y prompts because most multiplat (and even some PC exclusives!) are built specifically with native 360 gamepad support.
So it is not unusual at all for a PC with a 360 controller to have typical xbox command prompts. It is actually very normal a...
I am thinking with the fact that both consoles are running, for all intents and purposes, standardized PCs running on a x86 platform that most multiplat games will see the PC as the lead platform.
Can't tell if serious or just trolling..
They were animated. Didn't you notice them breathing in and out on their close ups?
I can't wait to watch my kids play this game. Glad to see there is an easy enough mode for them to play so I don't hear "daddy help me!" every 15 minutes.
I don't think anyone buys a console expecting it to be high end PC level. Not even when the consoles first launch. However I am sure the game will look great and play great on the new consoles. I will be getting it for both PC and PS4 so I can play with family. I am excited about using the PS4 controller to lean. I know this sounds petty but I think it will change how the game is played. And of course I am looking forward to playing it on my PC because the game is jaw dropping on ultra se...
Darkride66 is obviously not a Microsoft fan. His submissions are certainly proof of that. But that also doesn't make any of the points he has brought up any less valid.
If the xbox division is cut off from the rest of MS then it will mean radical differences in the way the future of the xbox shapes up. Will this be a good or bad thing? Who knows. But it will certainly change the way they have been doing thins up to this point.
And do you think Sony would have all the features they have and are going to have if they had no competition? NOPE! You would have half the console for twice the price without real competition.
It is the way the world works. You'll learn this one day.
I PREFER Steam. But Origin isn't horrible.
A PC with a 7870, 6gigs system RAM, 2gigs GPU RAM, and an 8 core processor could easily run BF3 on ultra settings. The problem is though the CPUs in the new consoles are extremely slow and even on the PC most games rely on single thread performance. I am betting if they actually coded for multi-core CPUs you would (and will once they get used to the systems) turn out much better performance.
But this is the start of the new generation. If I was making a game to turn a profit...
But it doesn't take a high end PC to run BF3 on high/ultra settings. That is the problem. :/
Most likely it is exactly what you've said though- they focused their time and money on the largest install bases. Which doesn't include next gen consoles.
Wow. This is very disappointing and I don't understand why this is. A 7870 running ~720p rez with 6gigs system RAM and 2 gigs GPU RAM on a PC can easily play the current BF3 on ultra settings.
Either BF4 really upped the visual settings over BF3 or the devs just haven't put much time in on the new systems. :/
I'm hoping for PvP. Would be great to be able to get into a PvP server and wreck (and be wrecked) by others during my travels.
Love or hate the series they sell this game yearly really well.
There is something to be said with quarterly DLC and annual releases. People love new content even if the overall game plays the exact same.
Most likely.
I got Saints Row 4 on PC. Might pick up the new GTA on whatever consoles my younger brothers pick up so I can play with them. (Im assuming it will be co-op)
Guild Wars being the masterpiece that it is really does make the pay model seem silly. Constantly giving content updates for free all the while turning a profit on things like Xp boosters and vanity items.
When Guild Wars launched and I actually played it I instantly knew this would be the standard all future free monthly MMOs would be judged against and all pay model MMOs would hate because it proves you can have a AAA MMO with a massive user base and still turn out great co...
Pfft. It may be a bad move. But if I like the game enough I have no problem paying a measly $15 a month. Seriously, just don't buy a couple soft drinks a week and you've found the money you need.
The real problem is this- so far public opinion doesn't think that the game will be WORTH paying that much for. And that is a real PR problem for this game right now. They need to show people what they will be getting for their money and that it is worth it.
I do the same thing. Only I play on my PC in bed or on the couch.
x86/x64. They both are running CPUs that are natively built to support x64. So I am sure that is what we will be getting.
Native DX11.+, x64 executibles, and optimized for AMD hardware will probably be the new standard to come for PCs within the next 2 years.
