Technically speaking the PS4 will be "outshined" before it even launches. (just look at BF4 on PC vs PS4 for proof)
But no one buys a console to "outshine" a gaming PC. They buy it to play games, and ease of use, and some even claim it is cheaper.
Pfft. Still no word on new Raven Shield. I don't get it. They can make a new Rayman or AC game every year but make us wait 3-5 years to play new Rainbow Six games. :(
I think what this guy is getting at is that, once again, we are going to have a generation of gaming where Nintendo looks last gen and Sony and MS will be close to each other in visuals even if one of the two has a slight advantage.
Lol @ the Tab comparisons. Yes the frequency is faster but we all know that means nothing at all when comparing two CPUs.
@Summons75- Guild Wars 2 says hello.
They do all of that and more without charging monthly.
But lets not kid ourselves. TESO will end up free to play eventually as well.
They are too little too late with the AAA software. The bigger powerhouses are about to launch and the options/fidelity/secondary uses make the WiiU look like a cheap happy meal toy.
I don't know why Nintendo didn't push for a better software lineup than they have by this point. In two months the spotlight and media attention will be almost solely aimed at MS and Sony.
@ The great Melon- I have the same problem. It always asks me to test on my Laptop or a work PC I happen to be using. I never care enough to bother looking and seeing if I can initiate it from my gaming rig but I am sure there is probably a way to do so.
@ Murad, yes. I've read that game is not very optimized. But I was talking more like Anodyne, UnEpic, or Deadlight.
Not everyone who has steam installed uses it solely on their gaming rigs. When I did my steam survey I did it from a work laptop. I have it installed on there so when I am out and about I can still chat with my friends on Steam and play some of the indie games that are not resource hogs.
Also- not everyone has a gaming rig period. I know a lot of people that have old PCs that only have steam to play older Counter Strike games and free games like Dota2 which do not need a beef...
It depends on your choice really. In some cases it might depend on your finances as well.
But for those of us that want the absolute best graphics, best physics, best mods, and a whole host of other options/uses that are not available on consoles and are willing to spend the money (or build your own like most of us do) then we choose the PC. If you complain about price then stick with the consoles. Plenty of fun to be had there I will never deny that.
But f...
Exactly. The PS2 era is gone and will never be again. But I have to say that I haven't been this excited for a Sony product since the launch of the PS2. I was literally spamming refresh on amazon.com so the "pre-purchase" tab would come up.
But for Sony to dominate the way they once did I think that MS and Nintendo would have to roll over and play dead the way the Dreamcast did to allow for that sort of near monopoly they once had.
I was thinking more along the lines of open world with randomly generated quests kinda like the old Elder Scrolls games.
I was spamming the refresh key on my browser during the Sony event a while back so I could ensure my pre-order was a day one.
I've never touched the single player, lol. I honestly don't know why they bother with it in the first place since most people don't play it.
I understand you perfectly Out1awed. The past 2 years or so it is really hard to play on consoles when the multiplat version on the PC is just so much more appealing to the eye.
And in the case of BF3.. they are different games on the console than they are on the PC. I mean completely different.
It isn't that we PC gamers think console gaming is about horsepower. But when you've got a new supped up Bugatti in the garage do you really want to take o...
@iamnsuperman. I should have stated I played the beta on PC, not the consoles. It did have some issues at launch. But it wasn't anything close to being as bad as the beta was.
I remember playing the BF3 beta weeks before it launched and the game was a buggy POS. When the game launched it was however a pretty solid game. Hopefully we see a repeat of this.
We have the same saying here in the USA. I guess it was imported. :)
We need the PC vs PC wars so that by the time the new console generations ends we have the fruits of competition (Nvidia/Intel/AMD) to pick from to make the best new console possible.
Seriously, if it wasn't for PC's manufacturers trying to beat each other imagine what
little advancement there would be in between consoles. You would not see the improvements in hardware, software, or middleware if it wasn't for these companies fighting to be the best in the...
I've watched the video of grandma with the headset. She loved it. She talked about how great it was and it was just like being there in person. She never complained of headaches or vertigo.

Probably not, but I am anyway.
