I downloaded the newest client but it still says "Origin beta". And I still have a lot of the same problems that I had the start of the month with the beta version of the game...
Once you learn the ropes the game really isn't that difficult at all. Especially not if you farm souls and upgrade your gear before moving into "tougher" areas.

Seriously though, I Dark Souls is probably my favorite RPG of all time now that I have put over 120hrs into the game across two characters.
I think so. I have C2 with the DX11+Hirez texture pack and I think BF3 looks better at maxed settings. Mostly because of the lighting though I think.
They've already planned the sequel to this game. It is going to be called "Xe". :)
Yeah, it does have a benefit of being DX11 when it comes to the actual code. But having advanced lighting effects and tesselation would have been awesome too.
Oh well, maybe next time around. The game still looks good and the gameplay looks like a step above the previous games.
I think that the Witcher 2 is one of the best looking games around and it is only DX9. So not too much stock should be put into DX11 I suppose.

I hope this game pushes my system to the extreme. Or at least runs so well I can play it in 3D on my PC without needing to upgrade.

I have liked all of the Silent Hill games to date. Some more than others. But they all have the same creepy vibe.

The combat.
This game has some of the best combat in any action RPG EVER. Different weapons have different attack animations, different uses, and then hold the weapon with two hands and you have even more options.
The armor/weapons/spells make PvP a lot of fun as well as the fact the basic fighting mechanics work really well for PvP.
I think it has to do with the fact they plan on releasing the game on consoles. So they are dumbing it down for the kiddos. (not that all console gamers are kids, just that more kids play on consoles by FAR compared to those that play on the PC)
I wish I could understand why people liked this game so much. I played it for about an hour and a half then deleted it off of steam. That was AFTER the new AMD driver and the patch from Id Software. I really wish I liked it instead of feeling like I wasted $60.
I'm really worried the more I hear about this game about it being lame. I hope my fears are not justified upon release.

On topic- no console generation is going to be a threat to PC gaming. They are two different beasts and experiences. The same as no PC is going to threaten console gaming.
This game was only fun for a minute anyway. The game had no depth whatsoever. The same maps over and over and over were really lame as well. The only good part was the monster customization. The gameplay itself was not that good.
Sucks about the DRM though. I know that Ubisoft's Uplay thing has been having trouble lately as well.
