Lol, this is such sad news on so many levels.
The PS2 was a great machine. But it didn't push some of the most important things in gaming that is standard today, like persistent avatars/profiles, online gaming (with VoIP), and friends lists. The original Xbox did those. And it did it all with a paltry collection of games compared to the competition.
When the xbox started releasing games like Rainbow Six I couldn't help but let my PS2 sit and collect dust. The online experience was just soooo much better on the xbox back then. Eventually I sold the old PS2 for a PSP.

I have not had any issues with it either.
I think next gen is gonna see the rise of MMOs on consoles. And assuming the game plays out like ME does only in an MMO setting I would be totally happy with that.

I don't understand why everyone is having such a hard time with the kb+m controls.. It is exactly the same as Oblivion with a few minor changes. (changes that can be re-bound the way you want in the control scheme..)

^^ I don't think they have been crap, I really liked Red Alert 3, mostly because it WAS like Generals in a lot of ways.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for Generals 2.

In my opinion BF3 is the better game in terms of gameplay, gfx, and game modes. However I can see where sales are concerned why people obviously paint CoD in a better light.
I agree with the RAM statement Spartan. However when I play current high end games on my PC I have my second monitor set up with system monitor running on it. Games like Crysis 2, BF3, and Stalker DX11 use only about 3.5 gigs of my system RAM. And my OS is running with high overhead. (uses about 1gig just sitting still) So those games are only using about 2.5 gigs and they look really damn good maxed out at high settings. THE ONLY thing I am not taking into consideration though is my video ca...

- not if they use two cheaper parts to make it faster than one higher end parts. (think SLi with two 460s instead of a 480)

Most PC gamers quit this series a long time ago. Especially when we have a game like BF3 and Red Orchestra 2 that have more depth to it. And if we want a casual shoot fest we have a lot of games like Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike, and a plethora of other new and older games to play.
Oh, the explanation in this article made it sound like anything could fill up the star as long as it had a soul, but the black star could only fill up on humanoids.
I don't use the Kinect for gaming, but if they ever get the software side of it to work better it is a very useful hands free media center remote and video chat option.
