The new weapon upgrades on the second playthrough were cool though
The FFV & VI were like $80 - $90...
And they were f'n worth it! But they are the exception.
It's easy to say that I'd pay $100 to play MGS4 now after I played the game, but I don't think that I would have made the leap if I didn't play it first.
Demo's should be required if games were that expensive

- BFG in Doom
- The Chainsaw (multiple game appearances),but Edgar's in FFVI was extra cool
- Cloud wielding Buster Sword is iconic, as is Sephiroth with Masamune
- Squall's Gunblade
- Diskarmor in Rygar
- Lightsabers in any StarWars game
- the Rocket Launcher in the final moments of most RE games
- Sweet Tooth's Ice Cream truck
- And they down-played Link's Mas...

The story always had to create some bogus reason why you could not visit towns/dungeons/sections from earlier in the game when you reached the last disk.
FFVIII put force fields over the towns and said Ultimicia was twisting time and space so you couldn't visit the towns before the final battle, for example
That's because they could not FIT the information on the last disk, there by altering the experience.
Heck, back on SNES for FFVI - even after Kefka ...
I'd love to see that happen, and Jaffe has already hinted at it more than a few times.

People used to Halo / CoD4 / KZ2 type difficulty usually cry foul when they try Warhawk and quit. But I can't play any other shooter but Warhawk.
After you've been introduced to the freedom of this game (ground battles to air battles in an instant) with so many ways to play, it's hard to migrate to another game.
