"If you've got an older PS3, you might be wondering how much this extra energy consumption is going to cost you over the course of a year. Unless you're playing a lot of video games, the difference isn't that much. If you generally play for about 20 hours a week, you'll save $13.74 per year using a PS3 Slim vs. an older model. If you're hardcore enough to rack up 50 hours of gaming per week, you'd still only save about $100 over a three-year period. In other words, the PS3 Slim may make ...
The slim unit will pay for itself over time depending on how often a person uses it.
Me personally, I use it for dvd, Blu-ray, and gaming - so it would make sense for me to get a cheaper slim PS3 that would use half the power of my 60gb.
EDIT:
But I admit that I'll still use the 60gb fatboy now and again in another room. that's my baby right there :)
look at FFX and tell me who you liked more? Auron or Tidus?
MGS2... Snake or Raiden? Nuff said...
Just kidding, just kidding... I know Tidus was hugging on Yuna and Raiden got cooler in MGS4. I'm just being a jerk :)
Patcher's "predictions" are shaky at best. I wouldn't want him backing me.
MS needs to tell him to shut the f up before he jinxes them
But honestly, we need BOTH the PS3 and 360 to sell well. Unless we want Wii-type casual family-fun consoles taking over gaming :(
If / when Twisted Metal gets announced for 2009 or next year and it has tight online, Sony will be printing some money
Seriously, when I think all time great "Sony" franchises, I think GoW first, and Twisted Metal second.
(I know, I know.... GTA games were popular Sony games, but people forget that Xbox got those games too - just later)
Really?
this game is crack-addictive
Great game to play with the little woman at home too
My 60gb may go in the bedroom or den for occasional use, and the slim will be the workhorse in the living room -- cutting power by 34 - 50%
The original 60gb was 200W
The next version was 160W
The latest fatboys were down to 130W
What are the slims down to with the new 45nm cell?
EDIT:
I'm just asking because it's been pretty hot the last few days, and I put a hurting on my 60gb (3 day weekend from work + back into Oblivion IV + fiance that's too busy caught up in wedding planning to care how much time I spend gaming = three straight 14 hr play days). :)
The 60gb sta...
bah...
That section really was hell. I'd play that whole game through again if it wasn't for that part.
For all of you gamers trying to get up to speed before Gow3 comes out, now your chance to experience pain.
And speaking of Pain... that follow the trail of blood, screaming baby section in Max Pain should be on that list too
uh, GoW Chains? Played it?
Excellent, stream-lined controls... maybe even better than the PS2 GoW titles
Great list but as others have stated Tetris should make it, and definitely Pac-man (or my personal favorite, Ms Pac-man)
Seriously... This - if true - is what a lot of HD gen console hold-outs and XBox 360 GAMERS have been waiting for.
As soon as the slim news starts to get a little more real, MS drops their price in retaliation. I just got my 360 a month ago to become a dual console owner and it's great, so I hope more people take advantage of these price cuts.
Man, what a great time to be a gamer!! :D
BB has movies exclusive to them, and it would probably lead to better pricing between BBO and Netflix.
Nothing like competition to improve service and drop prices :)
I still miss the Blu-ray vs HD-DVD deals... man, they were giving movies away every other week
Bubbles to each for catching both references! :)
LMAO!! This guy is hilarious!! :D
Such a bitter fanboy! LOL
Did you not see the changes that I would add to the original blog in which I added THREE catagories that I feel the 360 would win?
But then you add that we can't read. Ahahahaha
That's why I truly love this site. Bitter, bawling, heart-broken moans of a fanboy that can't admit that the other systems have something to offer because they're too poor to afford them.
Ok,...
See what I did there?
A bubble for whom ever gets the reference above ;)
The package will retail for $39.99, which is quite a bargain considering that a regular Platinum Hits title costs for $29.99"
Metacritic ratings and reviews on-the-other-hand CAN be debated.
Where was everyone in 2007 for all of that baseless PS3 bashing?
Obviously, one of my systems is a 360. And I can admit that it happened.
...like hdmi switches for those with limited inputs.
Don't get taken for the $50 - 100 cables at BB.
