Enough with the petty ad hominem BS. Multiplatform games have no justification for looking worse on the PC because they are not restricted by hardware like on console. It should always look better on PC, otherwise they are gimping the game for whatever reason. Nothing to do with 'superiority complex' its just a fact of the matter given the hardware
Well I missed the part about why they thought it was more impressive, but if that is the case refer to points 1.) and 2.)
Also, the meaning of this quote "but developer Ghost Games assured us they would have those problems ironed out in time for launch" is that it is not ironed out yet. Aka, the fact that it will look better in the future should not influence their CURRENT impressions of the game.
well the visuals of multiplatform games ARE supposed to be superior on PC, unless you have rare cases like dark souls where its equal across platforms until of course you got the framerate and resolution mods which elevate it to superiority. If its not superior on PC, somebody somewhere screwed something up, because the PC is not limited by hardware in the same way that consoles are
A good tech-friend of mine said its wise to purchase every other version of windows, so buy windows 7, skip 8, buy 9. So far it looks like this is a fairly good way to go
There are two explanations for this scenario
1.) Developers royally f&*ked up the PC port
2.) These guys are blowing smoke out their bums
I fail to see how a 'higher incidence of issues such as parts of the world failing to load' is their criteria for being more impressive. More impressive how?
This is one of the reasons I moved on...paying for XBL and now paying for multiplayer on PS+...
In the short term it doesn't seem like much but it adds up over the decade or so of life your console will have. It almost negates the cheaper price of consoles altogether
On the topic of the article, they took extra special care in developing the PC version to be probably the definitive version of BF4, and they are rewarded for their efforts with many PC purchases. They have done well, they do us right we do them right, even if origin and the browser launching thing is a bit cumbersome
I find that the exclusives for PC are far more unique than the exclusives for console, where they may be great games but you more or less know what to expect. ...
Excuses, excuses.
The probability of crippling hardware failure issues is far from absurd, given last gen what with the blue light of death and the yellow light of death and the red ring of death (from xbox)
And this is why you don't buy something major like a console day 1 without waiting to see if it has hardware failures, like PS4 seems to be having
Keyboard and mouse is best input for FPS games. Preference will not change that fact. And the FOV thing is little but opens up so many more gameplay options, which is what the PC is all about. Gameplay options that make it the defining version in terms of gameplay.
I'm sorry but you're just not getting the same experience I'm getting when you play BF4 on a console.
A lion would be able to rip through 1080p and 60fps no problem.
The ps4 is no lion
don't hate the devs, hate the hardware. If the hardware was better they could enjoy the game the way that the developers intended it to look
You'll be playing with a controller..an FPS game with a controller. The gameplay is fundamentally altered from the PC version, you just aren't using the best input method.
you'll be playing a version of BF4, but it won't be the best one, and it will not have the same gameplay, just as a result of not being able to use accurate input methods to play it.
You also don't have options for greater field of view, and just little things that make ...
well he basically said that you can have a game that is gigantic but full of empty space and barely any people (like GTA 5) or you can have a layered experience where the city is more dense and utilizes its space better, which watch dogs looks like it will be doing
I prefer digital of course, as I prefer digital for music and movies. Its a no brainer..digital libraries can never go missing and they don't deteriorate over the years, like physical discs often do. Also, physical discs take up space. If you have a substantial collection, you're gonna have to devote a spot for all of it. I've got like 100 games total on my digital library. I can't imagine having 100 boxes that I would have to account for and allocate space in my house for...n...
Whats the problem? they are advertising the game on the platform on which it was meant to be played. The platform that battlefield has best been played on since battlefield 1942
Lol at the people foolish enough to think even next gen consoles will match the PC footage they've been showing...
More and more we see next gen isn't as powerful as they've claimed it to be. Not surprising, honestly.
@Hydro
yeah I mainly just want to install a mod for population density...just looking at vids of gameplay and los santos looks like a ghost town
interesting, but I wonder if this accounts for input lag when using options like vsync
