Sixaxis was more accurate .25mm vs 2cm detection
it also detected motion on more axis then the wiimote
this is to compete with the detection level of the sixaxis - it does not make it better then the sixaxis.
Finally the Wiimote will be as capable as the Sixaxis is...
(and I am not flaming - this is fact)
currently the Sixaxis can detect motion on all six axis and to a resolution of .25mm vs. the lesser directional detection of the wiimote with a motion resolution of around 2cm
no worries about flames... I believe all of us agree that core gameplay is more important then accessories.

for one thing most books movies etc do not hit the used aisle until much later. Most people hold movies for years and books for years vs. 1-2 weeks for games. 1-2 weeks to recoup all the costs associated with creating, advertising, publishing and distributing the game.
Price is up because gamers are cheap and places like Gamestop and EB hurt the developer.
