and it is somewhat amazing for them to admit that they are behind ATI.
As for saying Larabee is 2006... well I think they will be unpleasantly surprised.

As mum as ever about projects. We have whiners here who are complaining that they are left off the credits in games such as Fallout 3 and then we have Tose - who does not allow their name or their employee's names to be practically any game they make... Makes US developers seem like whiners.
They are hiring in the US - if you can convince them that you are good enough :-p

Idtech uses Naive multiprocessing....

Wow, I thought that they would be more advanced by now. using the 1 core per concept idea is under utilizing hardware in a significant manner.
Multiprocessing to be truly powerful has to be polymorphic in processor usage - that is being able to utilize any and all idle cycles on any single processor rather then relying on a single processor for each function.

I suggest you check average file size as well...

I mean PSN games can be well into the gigs category rather then the 100s of megs....

It's more locational and situational

closer you are to the servers and less links can equal faster
but even then it depends on network congestion on backbone and on the servers as well as if you are on a shared Network link (like cable internet)for which will be faster

I suspect that they are very similar in speed on average.

avoiding insulting consoles for the first interview in years.
And well EA may have paid them enough to fulfil contractual obligations theres still the issue of is it EA's responsibility to port patchs for Valve Games or is it Valves.
If that was not part of the contract ... then it would be valve at fault and if it was in the contract with EA then EA didn't hit all the obligations. (so it sounds like Valve din't contract that out)

And socomnick your point is? Do you people not read before you rate what is said?

edit-
Gah am sounding defensive... I could care less about these disagrees - I do care that they didn't read what I said (or that they have an intelligence deficieny that doesn't allow them to understand it) though.

Very common practice and honestly while it hurts a little it doesn't keep you from listing it on your resume and EA and many others will confirm that you worked on it if a new employer asks them.

I really could care less myself and one of the top contract developers in the world specifically don't want credit for what they do (TOSE) so none of their employee's are ever credited. Highly respected and uncredited - prefer that then having my name attached to an abomination.

hmmm never said anything about score did I...
just that it is a game that was delayed multiples of times and that it doesn't live up to prerelease hype.

6372d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

actually that would not be a factor in most locations as the speed limiter is not your LAN but the WAN your ISP is servicing you through
even a slow wireless connection on a LAN is generally 5x the speed of the connection to your ISP which means that the speed limiting factor is not the LAN but the internet connection.

SPEED IS ALWAYS DETERMINED ON THE INTERNET BY THE SLOWEST LINK BETWEEN YOU AND THE TARGET
which by definition is not the LAN

maybe it's your fanish impression that gives you that idea... I think that what most PS3 players feel is something like the following.

1) Haze was not first party (a correction to your post) and it is a fair comparison in that it meets the following condition

-> games multiple times delayed that don't live up to the hype.

2) the Too Human concept is interesting, maybe with a few more years of polish and a developer that could remain on target i...

Of course I do understand their desire to do it themselves (approximately 30% more incoming revenue) but the aggravation and flubs must be causing them some loss of prestige which in the long run could cost them more.

didn't notice that the first time through the article but
twin stick shooters are a new genre???
robotron (1982) and other have been doing twin stick shooters since the late 70s early 80s.....

heck even battlezone (80) could be considered a twin stick shooter....

the answer is yes...
and I ask the same question of you?

6379d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Probably No.

SSHD trumps the Geometry wars games in every way

better action, better graphics, better sound, better gameplay, even better trophies.

Hmmm well I would leave in

SCEI
Blizzard
EA
Nintendo
Rockstar

I would probably drop one of the remaining to add TOSE to the list
never heard of them? Well they probably have built at least 2 of the games you played this year on any platform.

They have 6 studios, 1200 developers (majority programmers) and have developed over 1400 games as o...

Basically I have never said that one factor is the only trigger
you make assumptions that are not there about my viewpoint.

Video games can induce as can any activity - you need the right mix of factors - you assume I mean only light induced (find a place where I said that)
Epilepsy can be triggered by any number of factors - including genetics, audio stimulation, touch, mental stimulation, visual stimulation and many other things including drugs and dopamine leve...
